What good would seeing body bags on TV do? It would only freak out those are are too freaked out to see that sort of thing on TV anyway. And who's god are you invoking? smile.gif

Exactly my point. We are a Country of people who turn a blind eye to their government.... who don't wanna see blood... who don't wanna know... war is real... but Americans don't wan't to see "real" war... thus.... the government goes about its merry way..... gee... kinda like what happened in Europe 60+ years ago..... "too freaked out to see that sort of thing on TV anyway"..... EXACTLY MY POINT. They'd rather visualize everything as the little green and grey army men we played with as a kid.... or perhaps the bigger plastic guy like G.I. Joe.....

In all honesty.... a comment like that only reveals that you just don't get it.... just like the launcher of this topic who actually thinks what goes on in the ranks of the Taliban is more important than Americans dying.... and again... what actually are they dying for?

"So we can fight them there so we don't have to fight them here." LMAO.... what... they gonna cross the ocean on camels?

Okay....

"They're fighting for our freedom." I'm as free now as I was 10 years ago.

Oh I get it alright. I've lived through 2 world wars. I know what war looks like firsthand. Not like most of the people out there today. Were you drunk when you posted this? Have you gone mad? Perhaps if one were to step back and look at the bigger picture, one could see what is actually going on in the world we live in today. What do you think?

The bigger picture? What is going on in the World?

Well.. first off.. I don't care about people killing each other 1/2 way around the world. Their leaders can fumigate their citizens with anthrax, cow maneur or simply shoot them. I don't give a rats ass about people who hate us being murdered by their own. Goes on every day and will never stop.

But I do care about my Country killing people 1/2 way around the world. I have yet to see the justification for the death of ONE American soldier. I have yet to see any proof that ONE American citizen's life has been saved.... from anyone... or anything... because of us playing army men 1/2 way around the world.

Semantics I guess. The older I get the more I realize that perhaps... maybe... during my generation... and my children's generation... that War is not, nor has ever been, a "last resort". It's a tool... just like our leaders.... TOOLS!

Now I'm sure you and many others think America's best days are ahead of us.... not me... nope.. sorry bub.... until my children can walk out the door at 8 a.m. on a Saturday, do whatever it is they want, play like I did.... and be home in time for dinner.. and I don't have to worry about anything happening to them ..... I'll continue believing it's been downhill ever since my childhood.

Now why is that? What has our society changed so much? Liberals? Republicans? Religion? Mass immigration? The Taliban? Michael Jackson? Hillary Clinton? Brad Pitt? Islam?

Yup..... we are a broken society... only I don't blame it all on numbnuts 1/2 way around the world.

But I love my iPhone and can watch HD porn with the wife now... but that doesn't offset the degeneration of our society. Close though.

Sometimes I just wish things were simply black and white again................

Just to keep you up on what's going on in Afgan spiderroller: wink.gif

Marines assault Taliban town in Afghanistan

I feel so much safer. And I know it's so important for the Taliban to have fair elections. World peace and the destruction of Islamofagcist Funkdomentalism depends on it. wacko.gif

Are we going to Cuba next to make sure they will have fair elections?

Not so much for that but to check their mojitos and their cigars. Personally I would not mind purchasing some land there or in costa rica. We'll see.

Well.. that is a tough dilemma.

What is better for American business, bribes and payoffs?

A. War

B. Plush island resorts and commercial real estate

The answer will dictate which Country, or countries, we invade. Plus, you have to think of the sales pitch to the American public. Scaring the crap out of them and making them fear their life from boogeymen is an easier sell than new vacation spots they can't afford anyway.
