Construction is budgeted to cost about $16.8 million. A new courthouse is just the start The new facility aims to deliver function and beautification, incorporating sprawling, tropical landscaping and a centerpiece domed entrance plaza into the design. “This project fits in with long-range planning for the area,” Harris County Precinct 2 spokesman Mark Seegers said. Situated along Texas 225 and North Richey Street, the courthouse will feature glass paneling around the main entryway doors with long windows stretching around the front and sides of the building, bringing in natural sunlight. Aside from adding a visual point for visitors, when residents come to pay their taxes, they will set foot inside a domed plaza, the ceiling of which reaches to a second story.
