Urbannizer
My neighborhood borders a large ditch that drains into Buffalo Bayou (Cinco Ranch-Highland Park subdivision). A couple of weeks ago a neighbor found their cat between the ditch and nearby playground torn to shreds - the husband suspected a bobcat. Today, a neighbor's child found a cat that they think is theirs (kind of hard to tell apparently), also torn to shreds. If you live near the bayou or drainage ditches, please keep your pets and children safe.Chron had an article on these Bobcats killing Cats and Dogs in Katy/Cinco Ranch.I made a thead about it as well.Bobcats in Cinco Ranch/Katy Area
westguy76
Quite a sizeable population of wild pigs in the area also. But, I agree probably the bobcats. Or the elusive Cinco Ranch cougar.
Mr. B
Haha the pigs bring back memories of when we first moved here before all the mass of houses and there were just to subdivisions back here. All else was empty prarie. Not unusual to see the big hogs in the middle of the road or roaming around milling through folks yards at night. Lots of Foxes, deer, etc back here. Until they cut into the reservoir behind Creech you used to see a lot more of it. You would hear packs of dogs howling at night. Course with no street lights it was pretty dark around here.
