Mr. Chenevert
Whatever happened to Rice Military? Isnt Washington the Core of that?
plumber2
I once had a checking account at Heights State Bank. It's located on Washington Ave. I guess it's good enough for them.
tanith27
Since no one can agree, I say we just legally annex Washington Ave once and for all and charge a 20% douchebag tax to everyone with pink shirts and flipped up collars.
tmariar
http://www.divshare.com/download/5020790-131Here's that J.R. Gonzales wards map link, again, showing that very name. Also, notice the trolley trail (dotted line), how it leads down Washington Ave. into the Heights. That's probably why there is such a debate going on, now. It was a main entrance into the community, down the boulevard. PS TMariar, can you add this map to your list?Done. Incredible map! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.(Note: For some reason the new Houstorian maps page link opens for me using Explorer, but not Chrome. Don't know why that is, but I'm checking into it.) sunsets
Another Thank You for the map. I see my house is the "Bayland home addition" part of Woodland Heights. I always wondered when the orphan's home was torn down and the subdivision extended. Sometime around 1917, I guess.
