Donald Barthelme: a modernism suitable for everyday use, 1939-1945.

Subject:

Donald Barthelme was perhaps the most accomplished modern architect in

Houston in the 1940s and 1950s.

While his output was small, his designs were extraordinary.

The catalog focuses primarily on the design of the Bousquet Wightman

House

and places it within the context of the Houston architectural scene of

the

New Deal years and within Barthelme's own oeuvre.

Big thanks for the great reception and exhibit. The book is amazing! You can still go to the exhibit and the book will be available for purchase until they're gone. There are only 250 (numbered copies) of them so act quickly...
