One was streetcar or bus fare. The other was the price of a Coke. I cannot recall the price of bottled Coke but I know the streetcar/bus fare was 10-15 cents per ride. [Aside: I just realized my keyboad no longer has the cents symbol on it!]NOPSI operated the transit system and kept fares low. I think the fare went up to 25 cents within a year I was there, concurrent with making streetcars a one-man instead of two-man operation.I'm not sure why a bottle of Coke was cheaper? Lower price of sugar maybe?Way back, the cost of some things in La. were mandated to be lower.
