sifuwong
Any recommendations on a quality auto shop that can fix my brakes for a decent price...doesn't have to be national chain. A good mama/pappa shop will do also. Thanks.
ricco67
depends on your definition of "reasonable". Just replaced both my front end rotors and brakes for about $450 including labor. Had to replace a steering arm (or whatever its called) so my total was $780 or something. <gak!>If you don't need major work, anything under $300 is reasonable in my book. westguy76
I really trust the guys at Christian Bros. automotive in Katy. I believe they have several locations. But I always do my own brake jobs and keep it under $150.00.
houstonmacbro
When I had brake issues on my Honda, I took it to the dealer. It wasn't as costly as I had imagine (under $200) as I recall.Have you considered the dealer? If not, I always hear commercials for Just Brakes. Mr. Chenevert
A place in midtown called AutoBest. Its on Hadley and Austin. The building looks like a shack, but inside, he has all the necessary equipment. I havent used him for brakes before, but I like his work, and you cant beat his labor rate. houstonmacbro
Yeah, I cannot vouch for either and I know absolutely squat about brakes, but I hear the BC commercials all the time. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to take it by them and let them see what they can do for you.Worth a shot.
ricco67
But you have to remember what kind of shape the brakes are in. If its just normal wear, it won't cost much, relatively speaking of course. But if they are to the point where they're grinding metal on metal, expect to pay MUCH more.
