jimcas Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 It looks like there will be a Maui Tacos restaurant going in near 1960 and 290... Never been there. http://www.mauitacos.com/tx.htm Quote

cnote Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Is this going in on the site of the old Barton Springs Grill??? I recently heard (heresay) that this location was going to be a Chuy's by someone who works there in Austin...frankly, I am excited about either one! Quote
jimcas Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 Is this going in on the site of the old Barton Springs Grill??? I recently heard (heresay) that this location was going to be a Chuy's by someone who works there in Austin...frankly, I am excited about either one!Doesn't look like it will be in the Barton Springs restaurant. Here is the address - not sure what this was before:12719 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77065 Quote
sevfiv Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Looks like it might be in something called "Eldridge Crossing" - between Home Depot and Target on 1960.I think this was all vacant land pre-2007. Quote
hbcu Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 closer to eldridge and 1960 by the Panda Express....they started on the development in late 2005 Quote
jimcas Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Is this going in on the site of the old Barton Springs Grill??? I recently heard (heresay) that this location was going to be a Chuy's by someone who works there in Austin...frankly, I am excited about either one!It does look like there is going to be a Chuy's in NW Houston. TABC's website shows Chuy's applied for a liquor license on 1/17/08 at the old Barton Springs Grill adress - 19827 NW Freeway.Kind of interesting, but you can check by zip code who is applying for licenses through TABC's website...http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/publicinquiry/ Quote
cnote Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Freaking AWESOME!!!too bad I hate that location (avoid that intersection at all costs), but I will suffer through for Chuy's!!!! Quote
mrfootball Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Glad there's going to be a Chuy's, but they coulda picked a better location. From what I understand, there's going to be a Lupe's near there as well. They both need to be further up 290 in Cypress. Lastly, you can't even see the restaurant from the freeway or FM 1960/Highway 6. No visability. Quote
PureAuteur Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I ate at the Chuy's on Westheimer back in 2002, and I wasn't that impressed with the food. As for Maui Tacos, I wouldn't eat at any restaurant whose goal is to expand worldwide. Quote
cnote Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 this has nothing to do with Maui Tacos...but does anyone have any updates on Chuy's? I know applying for a liquor license is usually a big step, but I haven't seen any work being done to the building which I would have thought to be starting soon. Anyone have any scoop? Quote
