Mod Fixtures?

Can anyone recommend places to buy mod light fixtures? My budget won't allow the George Nelson bubble lamp that begs to hang in my dining room -- but is there a good salvage source where I could find something at least period-appropriate? Or can anyone recommend useful places to look for something new but with the right vibe?

And what are good sources for mod fixtures in general? Doorknobs, cabinet pulls, faucets -- that kind of stuff? Is eBay my best bet?

the repro items at rejuvenation.com are reasonable IMO. what type of budget do you have?

Beautiful, wonderful, lots of adjectives come to mind to describe the light fixtures at rejuvenation.com , but reasonable is not one of the descriptions I would use. ;) They do have a couple on "clearance" though.

It is frustrating considering how many great light fixtures probably hit the trash heap in and around Meadowcreek and Glenbrook on heavy trash days.

The resale shops on Milam carry some, but usually they are pricey. New ones are available at Sunset Settings and Design within reach, but you might as well go to rejuvenation.com, they are going to be at least as expensive.

PS: We need pics! We need pics!

to me 100-300 is reasonable for a nice looking fixture, even more for an outstanding one. if you're budget is 10, well you should be scouring the hoods on heavy trash day. nice fixtures on ebay i've seen are just as expensive many times. i know a coworker bid 500 (i think) on ebay and still lost it.

The budget is pathetic: $100 or less, if I can manage it, for the dining room hanging fixture.

And to make it worse: I've got to find it before the end of the week, when the electrician finishes the last of the re-wiring.

Maybe I'm doomed to an IKEA placeholder....

:( sorry about that budget. get something cheap temporarily and keep looking at garage sales, etc.

EDIT: you can hang it when you get it!! just need some encouragement.
