crunchtastic
Has anyone ever seen a residential, above-ground gas line?I have a very large, ugly deck off the side of my house and have decided to take it out. Now that I'm finally digging around, I see why there's a deck. The gas line runs about 2 foot above ground, across about 10 feet and then under the house. The deck is built over the line. Were above ground gas lines common in Houston in older neighborhoods? (Eastwood). Is this even remotely code compliant? I've got a call in to Centerpoint and a ticket number, now just waiting for someone to get back with me. Of course what I want is for them to run the line underground, but not have to pay an arm and a leg for it. Are there reasons why I couldn't, or wouldn't want to bury the line? musicman
maybe there was a shed or something there initially and the line was in there. definitely odd
jm1fd
If the line in question contains metered gas then Centerpoint is going to tell you to call a plumber.
