brucesw
Monica Pope (T'afia, Blvd. Bistro) is said to be opening a bbq joint on Taylor, off Washington, called Beaver's. The name has raised a few eyebrows but it's because that was the name of the ice house at that location.Has anyone seen what's going on or have any updates? tmariar
I was at T'afia earlier this week, and they had about three "Beaver's" items on their bar menu. I'm probably not going to remember which were marked as "Beaver's" - but I'm pretty sure the "corn poppers" (which were good, and tasted like hush puppies) were among them. houstongirl
My other office is located off Summer Street, which is right around the corner from Beaver's. I had no idea she is the one behind this place.... so yes, the name does raise a few eyebrows now. We'll have to check it out!
Vertigo58
.... so yes, the name does raise a few eyebrows now. I assumed it was an homage to Beaver Cleaver. Maybe Wally's would be next chain?
nativehou
I found this:http://blog.cleverley.com/And their website is www.beavershouston.com but there's nothing on there but an address and place to add your name to the mailing list. brucesw
I drove by the other day - I don't think they're very close to opening. Most importantly, I didn't see a stack of wood anywhere! Edited October 20, 2007 by brucesw

beauhenry
The Beaver's building was an ice house tavern pool hall cantina called Doodies.I think that their was a Bevers at 27th and Shepherd where Buffalo Freds is.

WestGrayGuy
I was invited to a sneak preview this weekend. I will definitely report back to the forum!
WestGrayGuy
I attended the sneak preview this past weekend of Beaver's. The place is not very big on the inside but it was packed. It is very rustic I would say, complete with exposed beams. The food was, or course, outstanding. They had several wait staff circulating through the crowd with appetizers. My favorite was: Stuffed Pepperoncini
