One Day in Houston

They show it daily at the visitors bureau next to DT city hall rotunda main lobby. It was made quite well but they could have found better semi-celebrities to interview. Some of them are very new to Houston/US.

How could they possibly be the image of Houston? That is the only misleading segments of the film. One was from Cuba for crying out loud. They could have found better choices. True born & raised Texan's. That's Hollywood though.

Which celebs are new to Houston?

Most of them have been here for a few decades.

And they purposely did not go for the big celeb population. They wanted it far more genuine than that. Beyonce or Clements going on about how great Houston is wouldn't have sold the "neighborly" and "close knit" image.

I mean't that new guy that was to represent the Latino areas of Houston. Soccer player or something. He is from Cuba or Puerto Rico or somewhere a few thousand miles away. Misrepresentation big time. Everyone knows that historically Texas consist mostly of Mexican-Americans. Big difference in culture. Please, I dont want to hijack this topic.

The film was made really nice from a professional stand point. It is like a short film one would see before the feature movie would start at a theater.

it is a greater houston convention and visitors bureau project

It's not a documentary. It's a 12 minute "commercial" designed to sell visitors on how great a place Houston is to live and work.

It's precisely the sort of thing you'd expect from the Chamber of Commerce, which, I understand, played a role in having it produced for the GHCVB.

It's a soft-focus glamorized look at Houston's best sides and none of the warts. You see life in Houston from the viewpoint of the young urban professional types who live close-in where all the action is. Go YUPs.

From a technical standpoint, it's a nice piece of work. Good photography, good production etc. Tres slick. The Chamber got its money's worth.
