TexasArchitect
don't know if any of you have been to Italy much less the Stuart Weitzman store there. anyway, their millwork or shelving dispaly is all curved. floor pattern on the floor is curved, and everything is this off white color. apparently there is speculation that this "curved" style will make it's way to the u.s. imo it's blah. what do you guys think? here are some pics:
KatieDidIt
The Vegas store in The Venentian already looks like that. I was too busy looking at the shoes to be too concerned with the store. Most women probably feel that way too.

Vertigo58
Yes it looks nice, however I see nothing "innovative" about it? That style of advertising has been around for decades. I have old silent movies filmed inside huge department stores in Los Angeles in mid 1920's and you can see this same style in the set design or background. Maybe I missed something? Again, I think it looks clean, sharp and streamlined but its been done before here in US for years.
ArchitecturalPRGirl
Way agreed! I'm a shoe whore, I love and wear his sexy shoes. Who cares about the show racks, you could line em up on the floor for all I care. Never the less I'll check it out when I'm in Vegas next month and comment.Sorry for the girl moment guys:) Edited May 23, 2007 by ArchitecturalPRGirl

Vertigo58
You actually bring up a good point. That is in regards to Department Store advertising. I have yet to see that topic covered on Haif unless it has in the past and I missed?I am always fascinated to see the imagination that goes into design of stores inside and out. I personally flip out to see the shopping areas outside of casinos like Ceasar's Palace in Vegas. The domed ceilings with murals of the sky are too cool. I am a big fan of futuristic billboards and the like as I have mentioned several times on haif. I love how flat widescreen has been used lately in various stores to advertise new products. Ok I am straying but yes I too am crazy of how other cities do thier layouts. Innovation baby!

It was featured in PaperCity last spring in '06. It's freaking cool. It's in the middle of nowhere in the desert. Google it. My mom lives in Marfa, so I've been there.
