Drove by again today and checked my count. They are just finishing up the 12th (and final) office floor (the floors with the notches in the side). Just need to stick the roof on the think and the main tower is at height.

Still no evidence that they've started on the parking structure, though.

They are halfway through the next floor, and if I remember my count from earlier tonight and am getting the number of floors right, there should be one more on top of it then they've hit the top.

Although they haven't appeared to have started the extension for the parking garage yet.

They are getting pretty far along on the columns and walls for the basement parking.

It looks like this building is just going to be a carbon copy of the one right behind it. I'm sure all they did was dust off the plans. I expect this thing to be done in no time.

But... but... they changed the little wave thing at the top! It's totally a completely different building! Right? Right...?

A few days ago they covered the sign on the first crane that said "MORROW" with one that says "BLVD Place:"

Already has an Ocean's Prime signed on. Hoping to see more. Although the area has so many higher-end eating options, I'd love to see something that I could walk over and eat lunch at without spending $25+.

I think that'd be awesome. I'd love a massive TV to watch out my window.

Second crane was completed early this morning. It has a little banner on the top that says "BLVD PLACE" instead of the "MORROW" banner on the other crane.

I just ate at the new Cougar Woods dining hall. It's REALLY nice. And while I was leaving and looking at the work that was done and is being done in the area, it hit me exactly what they are doing with the parking lot I mentioned earlier. They aren't changing the entrance to the lot to make it fit better, they are putting in a road that connects from the Cougar Pl./Cullen intersection around between the dining hall the the Quad down to the currently dead end bit of Wheeler there.

You can see they put in one side of the road that goes past the dining hall in the top of this picture:

I think you might have read it wrong. From the article:

"...will be constructed on a 1.5-acre site at the corner of W. Sam Houston Parkway and Briar Forest Drive."

That's about 2 miles south of I-10.

I'm still holding out hope that they are waiting for a better economy and for more investors so they can go back to a plan resembling the initial proposal for the site.

I noticed that the other day. It's massive. I saw it from San Felipe. My guess is that it was much easier for them to have three trucks running a 150 yard loop to dig out that hole than to get 20+ running loops to whatever dump site they have. This way they can have the building going up while they slowly get rid of the dirt.

Interesting. Should be nice to see what they'll replace it with.

There was an old Mercedes in one of the parking bays there that I always meant to go by and try to buy off the owner. The whole complex was actually really nice. Dark from all of the tree cover and down a little incline towards the back. It felt really secluded.

The two "new concept" restaurants they've been mentioning from the start of the project will be from the guys behind Mockingbird's Bistro and Hugo's:

Also, in reference to the other buildings that will be going up on the site:

"The developers plan to develop a hotel and another office tower on the remaining land next to the new building."

"Steve Lerner, president of Redstone, says the Post Oak hotel is being carefully considered and will move ahead as soon as financing is secured."

"The second office tower on the Post Oak site probably will be about 20 stories and construction won't start for at least a year or two — after the first tower is leased."

With all the crane talk for BLVD Place, just wondered why no one mentioned this one.

It's because this site is less prominent, much smaller, and is a generic multi-family complex. BLVD Place has been one of the most anticipated developments in the city for quite a while. Also, BLVD Place's constant delays made it feel like it was never going to happen, so ANYTHING happening on the site is huge.

Besides, the big tower crane just looks cooler.

I could swear that little crane has been up and active for almost a month now.

That bench is still there last time I checked. It was moved from Post Oak in front of the Pavilion prior to the demolition.

They are starting to put up another crane on the other side of the site:

The crane was taken down yesterday.

All I know for certain is they have always mentioned plans for multiple towers, and the construction permit posted on the site says it's for "towers."

The site design has always called for three towers, originally I believe one office, one hotel, and one residential, although I think they switched the residential to second office if I remember correctly.

You can tell that the building on the left is the one that's going up (http://swamplot.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/bbva-compass-bldg.jpg), albeit with a moderate redesign.

I don't believe I've seen any current renders for the whole site yet, though, but the plan should still be to have two additional towers on the site: one on the corner of Guilford and Post Oak, and one towards the back of the site.
