Noticed yesterday when I went by this that the first section of the crane was in place. Sorry no pics.
I just noticed that today as I was going by. If they follow the same timeline for putting it up that the BBVA building did, we should see the crane up before March.

It's always had office space. The bottom two floors are for retail and the top two floors for office. That's nothing new.
I got the email as well. The only thing on it that's new is this picture:
It also lists the square footage available.
BLVD PLACE 1 will have 22,420 on each of the two levels, and BLVD PLACE 2 will have 13,640.

There has been literally nothing done on this project in well over a month now. No idea why it's stalled.
-
I believe it means they want permission to construct a building that is 15' back from the road (or the property line).
More importantly, it means that something is happening with this site, and this tower may well be going up.

This showed up a few days ago:

Yep. Saw it a few days ago. There's a lot of work happening there now. I wonder what they are going to do with that steel frame that's been standing there for 3 years. Do you think they'll use it or tear it down and start over seeing as it's been exposed to the elements for several years now?

I though the second building was going to be build after the compass bank building?? is the 2nd building the hotel?
It's not a crane for a second tower. The 2nd building, which I believe included a hotel, is probably not going up until this one is finished.
Those kinds of cranes are called "tower cranes," and this is just the second one on the site. It's probably going to be used both to build the garage and finish up the hole that will be left in the side of the tower after the building is finished and the first crane is removed.

The second tower crane is up. It's taller then the first.

It's up to about 2 stories at this point. I'll try and go by and get some pictures this weekend.

a ) Calling out the Aggies' ineptness really has nothing to do with this conversation
b ) I'm a Cougar as well.. so I have every right to make fun of my school.
c ) It is indeed a ghetto ugly campus right next to one of the more ghetto parts of houston.. USING ALL CAPS won't hide that fact.
d ) Can't wait to see what scenic part of campus they settle for.
e ) Cracker ? I didn't realize racially motivated personal attacks were now allowed on HAIF.
a. It's still funny that A&M isn't even bowl eligible yet, regardless of relevance.
b. You have the right, but really ought to have more pride in your school.
c. The ghetto next to campus is ugly. The campus itself is really nice.
d. Cullen Circle, right in front of the E. Cullen Building.

200-300 ft. most likely.

So will Keenum go the way of the other guys at the top of that record book, and never even start in the NFL? Or does he have what it takes?
He may not be a starting the the NFL, but he is definitely good enough to be on a scout team.
-
Keenum finished the night with 9 touchdown passes and 534 yards! Edwards had 319 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns in only 7 receptions!

Do you have a link to a rendering?

They put the fence up and tore the building down today. I drove by around noon and the fence was just being finished, and there were two excavators sitting on the rubble. About half of the building was torn down at that point. I suspect it's all gone by now.

So High Street will basically be 2525 McCue placed on Westheimer.
High street:
2525 McCue:
I guess anything is better than the abandoned framework structure that there now. I was just hoping for something the slightest bit interesting.

Kudos to BS for beating Georgia, and kudos to UH for beating UCLA... but that one quality win over a good SEC team or a mediocre PAC team isn't enough to convince me they could beat any team they played, much less any team in the top 5 not named Bama.
2009: UH won 45-35 at #5 Oklahoma State. Houston can and has beaten great teams. That said, I wouldn't say that Houston is in a position where it could legitimately deserve to compete for the national championship. But I also don't think that Houston would be easily beaten if it got to a BCS bowl.

Coogs vs. Boise St in a BCS game? I also have no confidence in Wisco vs. MSU (E. Lansing is a terrible place to Play!! Unless we are speaking Basketball of course)
If the current plans/rumors work out, UH vs. Boise could be an annual Big East conference game come 2013.

If the Ritz Carlton hotel and condo tower and the Hanover luxury apartment tower are both gone then essentially all that is being done is replacing an older strip mall and mall with a fancier new one.
Well, a significantly nicer one that will have a Whole Foods and potentially a movie theater.
Also, the condo tower isn't cancelled, it's just being done by a different developer as a separate project. Last I heard it's still going to happen as planned.
