  1. so it being typical to other shopping centers means its nothing to get excited about. I don't get why its so difficult for Houston to land urban style shopping developments especially in this part of town? Not trying to throw Dallas in this, but they seem to have no problem getting them.

Not exactly, there is basically, West Village and Victory(fail). Dallas lacks the grid street pattern for true urban growth. The size of downtown and uptown together can't be more than half of Houston's downtown. The street design coupled with the fact that most of the fancy highrises have either large setbacks with fences around them or minimal to 0 street integration has already killed the chances of a truely urban center

  2. So what is the result from the press confrence? Is this just for the local cable channel or for the national NBC Sports studio Houston was bidding for? With the national deal, I heard that talk shows would also be filmed in the studios. What did they mean by talk shows? Sports talk shows or a Debra Duncan/Oprah/Ellen/Rachel Ray type talk show where many tourist will go daily with free tickets to the shows.

That would be huge, but I think that it is going to be a local affiliate similar to Fox Sports Houston...but its just my opinion

Pure speculation, but to me seems plausible that this could be the building they are talking about...

"Houston-based Apache (NYSE: APA) had been considering its real estate options, including possibly pre-leasing space in a proposed office building that would not be built without a commitment from a lead tenant."

Looking at the map I think there could be several things going on. I agree with Lockmat on the location, this is right where building 4 of BLVD Place is. So maybe they decided to scale back and sell (or are in the process of selling) that part of the development.

Less likely would be squeezing the astoria between the existing BLVD place (building 6) and building 4...would be very ambitious seeing as it is pulling teeth to get anything going in the first place but I can be hopeful I suppose!
