I give him credit for having the cajones to scrap everything. That being said, he could have stated things a little more PC. Also it sucks that he is basically keeping 60% of the area from seeing a fun rockets season.
Is the product of a 70 win team that much better than a 50? In terms of not being the worst 3 season team ever, yes. But in terms of fan appreciation I am sure that it makes no difference and crane and co obviously agree since the are confident in not making any bandaid signings.
I will reserve judgement until the team is in a position to compete...then we can see if he is willing to throw around cash.

Hmm will be interesting to see how they squeeze a drive through in there, or if they do at all. It would seem "traffic-y" to have people enter crossing the drive through line on foot.
-
That is nice that they incorporated the entire area, meaning the sidewalk going behind Layal, because what exists now is a poor excuse for any walking path.

Damnnnn looks slick

There are signs up saying westheimer between 610 and westlyan will be one lane starting on 3/10. Maybe they are going from 610 in...hopefully

These are really moving along!
Thanks Skyline and Golyadkin for the great pics!

I don't like making new threads, especially when I don't haw an article or rendering to show so figured this was the most appropriate place. On Voss near San Felipe, behind the Kroger something is going on. They have a movable crane and looks like they are drilling for foundation, anyone have any leads? This kind of work doesn't seem like it goes on for just an apartment complex.

Ultra luxury, since everything now has been deemed luxurious.

My personal favorite is when people in Dallas complain about the heat in Houston...
-
Any bets on what gets bought first, strip center on San Felipe or westheimer?

It's the Blue building just down the street.

The building looks A LOT like the cosmo. I am generally pretty positive on here so don't call me a debbie downer, but I think this building will be drastically underwhelming.
The gothic, cathedral style facade near the entrance could be very nice, but if it is done cheaply it will look like s**t.
All this being said, I hope for the best, sales are great already and any addition to the Uptown Skyline is fine by me!

Hmm Golyadkin I think he is further right in the high rise, whatever the name is.

The McDonalds is officially closed. If you need a burger in the north Post Oak area... God help you. You will have to schlep down to the Jack in the Box on San Felipe. Wah waaaah.
You could go to 5 guys! Also happens to be drastically better than Mcflurf too.

It's 20,000 sq ft but its also pretty far from a lot of stuff downtown(not for long with all the new development). Doesn't midtown have a much higher population to support at least a little retail?
Very exciting stuff going on it seems!

Painful to see the empty lots might be an exaggeration. That being said considering the amount of land owned by regent square could make for one hell of a parking garage...
-
Interesting spot. That is a great location because of how close it is to all he museums, but the area is much more transitional compared to w grey side of midtown. I would love to see that park cleaned up!
-
While I would like ground floor retail as muh as the next guy, I think it woul actually be cluttered with the park. The park itself is the attraction. They do plan to have a cafe or something like that right? That is a similar model to DG, which has worked, with added bonus of apartments.

Give me te twisting building please!!!!
-
Cool, throw up another one of those apartments like they are building down across the street. Lets at least get the Corners with retail.
-
Oh wow they are starting on the Hanover tower already? This is nuts!

Is it really that difficult to bury the power lines? I would think being in a part of the country that has strong thunderstorms and hurricanes you would want as many buried lines as possible.
I do like what they have done on Bagby, this appears to be the same. One day all of the streets in Midtown will be like this and that is great!
-
Hmm possibly the Audi dealership?

Is this building under construction? When the 18-wheeler lost it's load last week on the I-10/610 ramp, I was diverted and had to take 59 past downtown and saw some construction, but couldn't remember exactly where it was. It was really close to the freeway on the north side, which made me think it might be this project. Anyone know?
It's practically on 59, north side and east side of Montrose. I drive by there from time to time and nothing has been done, the sign is still out front if that counts for anything.

You are spamming Houston message boards promoting this place...at least come clean and say you own/work at this place.
