  1. I would love it if they put a Houston's there. We need one.

The parent company of the Houston's chain is the Hillstone Restaurant Group. I ate at one of their other restaurants (very similar to Houston's) in Denver, The Cherry Creek grill. Awesome food, great bar.

If the Vintage Park marketing people glimpse at this board, please get on the phone ASAP with Hillstone and let them know we want a Houston's.

  2. Looking at this location to open up Mi Lunas but i am just not too sure about this town center. No major retailers n restaurants have signed up at this place yet besides Victoria Secret, why?? Town center looks beautiful but it just concerns me when no national retailers are around it yet. Please someone explain to me why Mi Lunas would do good here n why it wouldnt. Anyone familiar with that location please help me out, thanks.

This area is hungry for more GOOD restaurants and entertainment. I for one love Mi Lunas and enjoy the Rice Village location, I would go more but it's too far away. I wouldn't be concerned about Vintage Park, because it is going to be a major hit. You've got a large built-in market with great demographics in either direction for miles from Cypress to Spring, Champions to Klein/Tomball. Very little competition in your segment, people here want more good 'inside-the-loop' type restaurants. I've spoken to many people around here who are anxious to see this place open. It will become ground zero for dining and entertainment in the area. As far as national retailers, I'm confused as to why they've been mum on announcements. I'm not sure what CBRE is doing, it should be a very easy sell. I drove by there yesterday and it looks really beautiful.

  3. Just drove by a small new gated enclave being developed in North Cypress (HP Corridor) called "Hidden Falls". It's located on Malcomsen Rd. near Grant.

I appreciate the way they're developing this property thus far (i.e. keeping the trees). It looks to have some sort of neat large waterfall landscape feature in the back. I'll try to get some more pics.

  4. I think they used brick as well to blend in more with the other retail in the area. Looks fine to me, just wish they'd plant some Cypress trees or something in the parking lot and do a bit more landscaping.

The beer selection isn't quite as grand as Central Market's. I'd like to see them work on that a bit.

  5. I had seen a site plan on this forum several months ago. I think the plan showed a hospital in that location.

The Hospital (Christus) will be built on the other side of Cypress Creek (behind the Sonic). I believe that's a Read-King Development.

It really pissed me off when I saw them clearcutting that property at BC and Jarvis. There were a lot of really nice big old trees there. Much nicer than whatever crap they're going to put in.

On a secondary note, what about that property near the intersection of Telge & Huffmeister. The one where they were going to build dozens of individual built to own professional buildings/offices? After grading and laying the street and utilities, they now have a "for sale" sign on the property. Guess they ran out of loot. Looks like it would be well-suited for the original purpose, or for Patio or Townhomes.

Wreckless spec developers ought to be strung up by area residents. Nobody wants them.

It appears Coles Crossing has now formed a Master Planning group that will oppose this sort of thing I'd like to see the other neighborhoods and concerned residents band together to make it known that this kind of stuff isn't welcome around here.

  6. Matt Waller, Interfin's senior vice president of management and development, said about 100,000 square feet or 30 percent of Vintage Park is leased. He said several of those businesses will open in November, and will new tenants are expected to come on board through summer 2008.

Honestly, I'm REALLY surprised at this. I'm hoping its because they're taking the time to get it right, lining up some big-name anchors...If not, perhaps they're asking for sky-high rents or need to fire their marketing staff for sheer incompetence. It's not like this should be a tough sell. Large, booming, established, but underserved market with terrific demographics. HUNGRY for better shopping, dining and entertainment alternatives.

  7. Performers include Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers Band, Roger Creager, Stoney Larue, Bob Schneider, Wade Bowen, Todd Snider, Brandon Rhyder, Reckless Kelly and Lee Bice.

    Gotta love it.

They've really found a nice new draw at the race park with all of these concerts. We're thinking about going. Anyone ever been to a concert event at this venue?

  8. Pleasant surprise to see that the County, specifically Precinct 3, has planted nice Live Oak trees all along the medians of newly expanded Telge. Last year, I had inquired about this and they replied that they had to wait 1-year before they planted (due to the contractor warranty). Kudos to the County and whomever else helped get this done.

Next, we need to get Precinct 4 to plant some trees in the rest of the medians on Louetta in front of Villaggio and Heatherwood to match the other landscaped/tree canopied stretches around VP, HP and Lakewood Forest.
