Bull Riding, Dancing & Silent Auction Sunday, August 28, 2016 - 2-6 PM Rebels Houston 5002 Washington Ave Houston, TX 77006 Yee-haw! Come out and socialize with new and old BCO friends! Ride a bull, show off your dance moves, have some cake and check out our silent auction (BCO Lifetime Membership, outdoor equipment, weekend stay in beach condo, dance lessons, yoga classes, teeth whitening, fabulous art and beautiful glass items and much more)! You do NOT have to participate in the auction (no pressure). Just come out and have a good time, if you choose. However, you might see something that you really need so come prepared, just in case! This is a Silent Auction and Birthday Celebration for Mark Danna Many of you know Mark - and, if you don't, please come and meet him - he has been a BCOer for many, many years. Last April, Mark was diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. This disease robs a person of their ability to function on their own without assistance. Within a year, after diagnosis, Mark is in a wheelchair without the use of his right arm. As happens, this disease was not expected and Mark was not prepared, financially. We are coming together to help one of our wonderful BCOers out with future medical costs and to celebrate his birthday. The fundraiser will be held at Rebels (last year's BCO Birthday Bash was held there). There is a large parking lot (FREE) and you can also park on the street (I believe it's free on Sundays unless otherwise indicated). We will have food trucks (TBD) out front and beverages should be purchased at the bar. RSVP @ http://bit.ly/2br2pSj Additional info call 713-524-3567 or e-mail to info@bayoucityoutdoors.com

Join Bayou City Outdoors as we lead the group for an easy 6 – 8 mile ride stopping for about 30 minutes to watch the bats pour out and then onto to downtown for the adventurous. 23. BCO - A Walk in the Woods aka Hiking Memorial Park Trails July 16, 2016 Meet at 7:45, start 8 AM to 9:30 AM Memorial Park by the rugby/soccer field parking lot N Picnic Lane Houston, TX 77007 (see map @ BCO Calendar) Memorial Park, known as the Central Park of H-town, is an amazing 1466-acre park (one of the largest in the county) right inside the loop! Trails are a mix of hard packed dirt, sand, trees and tree roots. It is wooded and wild in the middle of the city! Join us for an hour and a half quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known (and more adventuresome) trails our park has to offer. Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, as it’s easy to bang a toe on a tree root. And, there’s some "elevation" in the park that you wouldn’t expect from just driving by. Remember to bring water; there are no water fountains along the trails. After the hike, a group goes out for breakfast and coffee. Here’s what our friends at GHORBA.org have to say: “Memorial Park offers a convenient escape from the concrete jungle of Houston with seven miles of dirt trails. Trails are marked and named by their “Color” of trail markers. Please, check the meeting location map on the Bayou City Outdoors site calendar.
