Hey, does anybody know what to do about this? It's still very much alive. Not even paralyzed.
Will a vet remove it for free? Or am I going to have to kill it, rip the torso from the wing, and then dig out the fractured part of the wing with a straightened out clothes hanger?
drive backwards exactly one mile/hr more than you were traveling upon initial impact.

my friends often joke of the mercury lamps you see as you get close to hobby just prior to landing. Its WT at its best...thats what the lights remind me of, a bunch of cheap mercury lamps...now we just need some pit bulls to chain up.

I hear negative things sometimes, but you know what...what you see is buisness..its what provides the daily things we enjoy. I tell people if you want them to go away, then quit using consumer goods. I actually kinda like the smell and the heat you feel from the unknown chemicals burning in the flare on 225 verrry late at night.

Sorry to completely slap down your post GREASER, but spending even a dime over $100 is like throwing money down your insinkerator. 1/2 hp is all you need...unless you plan on grinding construction waste from your remodel. You're throwing vegetables in the thing. It doesn't take much. Bones go into the trashcan. So does grease.
My plumber told me to buy a 1/2 horse disposall, because anything more was a waste. I saw a 3/4 horse on sale for $89 instead of $74 for the 1/2, so I bought it. When the plumber saw it, he laughed at me for falling for the "bigger is always better" scam.
As for a $100 an hour plumber, I would agree that REAL plumbing requires a REAL plumber. But, installing a faucet, disposall and dishwasher is so simple that a do-it-yourselfer can do it. Talk to the neighbors. Surely, someone knows a plumber working side jobs for half that rate or less.
My house is currently gutted due to the neighborhood handyman. Just hire someone. Think how much time you have wasted just contemplating what to do and reading postings and thinking about it etc....time is money and hopefully your time is worth more that savinga few bucks.
When you talking such little money, I dont think spending a little over 100$ is a big deal. Plumbers are like everyone else in the service buisness, their job is to get it done, not stick around and see how long something last. Like the carpenter whos house has putty all over it and the mechanic whos car barely runs.

Guanos plumbing (sp?) ..these guys are good...Leslie did all my work and wouldnt trust anyone else. He is very meticlus (sp?) and everything is perfect. That is expensive..labor is 100/hr for good work. Buy your own disposal (dont buy on for under 100) and call them

Note to self: Call sister-in-law, the former architectural director for one of Houston's largest homebuilders, and tell her how wrong her bathroom looks.
it doesnt matter what others think..its your house, but you cant fight the arch. style. I would determine what the style of the house is and just go with that...obviously you like the original style or you wouldnt have bought it. Stay with a simple design and it will never go out of style
-
the style will look right out of the 30`s..but its America, you can do what you want and as long as you enjoy the style, then thats what matters. If you have a budget, then a new sink w/hardware, new counter, change the drawer pulls and repaint.

Just need a vanity..no more than a box really.

I accidently went to a store once when it was a tax free weekend...I actually just left when I say the crowd. I often wonder, how many would pay twice the tax to have a quick check out and no crowds..I would in a second. I`m sure I`m not the only one. Oh well, I wont be spending any money during this weekend.

I think it was a Cub Scout project for us...we all learned to hold on tight to your money when dealing with "the man"

oh ya...I heard Stand and Deliver the other day at HEB..stragest thing ever. So no one thinks this is a subliminal thing? I thought maybe it made the regular shoppers feel uneasy and maybe not steal anything, or eat the product and put it back.

I would not tile to greenboard, I was saying greenboard with 1/4 hardi over it...I figured it out though...1/2 hardi in the shower and 1/2 green elsewhere..that way there is a smooth transition.

I realize stores play background music designed for the demographics, so I have always wondered why they often play 80`s new wave at this store. I thought maybe it was to make some people uneasy with the unfamiliar music? This am, in the short time I was there, they played the Cure, the Clash, and Psychedelic Furs...where does the music come from? Club HEB? I am not complaining and actually love when they play the music, but just curious about the thought behind it.

I am getting ready to sheetrock the new shower area and not sure how it should be finished out. One told me to carry the greenboard into the area (sheetrocking the whole bathroom with greenboard), then going over the green with 1/4 hardi...another said to use 1/4 in the area and thats it. Oh ya there will be tile over the shower area and not the rest of the room, if that detail matters.
anyone know how builders do it?

I cringe everytime I see that natural looking slate 12x12 tile used.

sunset? wasnt there a joke about it awhile back?

the shiplap has nothing to do with load bearing. If you are trying to take out was an outside wall, then that wall would be load bearing. Depending on how big open up is, you can just install a header and remove a couple of studs.
Redscare I stand corrected. Depending on which way the rafters run...larger houses have rafters in different directions...you will have to look
-
they sell the round corner bead at the homestore...you may be able to install right over the square edges then just float it out.
-
Resheetrocking all. The bath is gutted at this point. There was nothing in that area.
-
I want to take mine out too, but I am guessing someone smarter than me builds like that for a reason, so before I change it, I would like to know why its there to start with.
-
No...just a hollow cavity in the shower area. My old house had it and my new (1970) has it. I assumed it was there so the humidy would travel to a higher part of the room. Talkin like 1 foot dropped.
ever wonder how an ikea kitchen fits together?

ok. I couldnt delete my post...I was asking for some help to RE install some base cabinets...I was just trying to spin it so someone would want to help.
Their kitchen cabinets are great...they use Blum hardware and I used wood glue and some extra things here and there to make them stronger. My wifes parents have had a ikea kitchen for 25 yrs and it has held up great.
