  3. Looks like they are indeed preparing the area for demo work. A truck is there right now loaded with what looks like chain link fences:

Sorry the picture isn't too great, I need a better lens.

Personally, I'd like to go over and as if they'd let me like throw a brick through a window or something as they are starting demo work, 'cause I mean, when else would you get the chance to smash the front window to a store and not get arrested? ;)

Yes!!! went by there just now and there is indeed a chain link fence encasing the entire old complex...so looks like this is being torn ASAP!!! AWESOME!!!

  4. that comparison made me laugh out loud! comparing dog/horse races to a soccer team! haha! oh well...anyway, soccer has a huge fan base AND this stadium is in a convenient and "makes sense" location where those others are not ;) I KNOW this will be successful and man i cannot wait to go May 12 and tons more times in the future!

  6. omg referencing Central Park?! how could they do that!!!????!!! i too am now confused and feel this will end houston's reputation as we know it and i will never be able to enjoy it, no matter how cool it is, because of that comparison....OMG!!!

in other news this new development is exciting and just what that area needs

  7. i wanted to add two things...

1st, the old Marquee west is not called Marquee Uptown i believe but its looking fantastic as the new owner has completely remodeled all units, the lobby and pool area as well as the grounds in general...(this is also the owner of adjacent Carriage Square which he also updated and looks much better)

2nd, the new parking structure(?) of 2525 mccue seems to be shoved almost directly next to the Dominion's infinity pool area...i wonder how that is being received haha!

  8. Instead of a matinee price and a night-time price it is a gradually shifting scale.

Example from the Madison, Wisconsin location: Adult Matinee base price is $7. If you go at noon to 1 there is no amenities fee. If you go at 2 there is an extra $1 added on. If you go a little later the fee is a little higher.

If you go in the evening the base price is $9.50. If you go in the evening on a weekend night, you're paying the highest prices.

The other Sundance location is in San Francisco is pricier. I'm not opposed to the pricing scheme on its face, but we'll have to see what the base prices look like. It will be kind of cool to reserve a good seat and be able to get there at the last minute.

any updates or photos anyone can post?! thanks!

edit: just found this article posted yesterday! http://www.downtownhouston.org/news/press_release/sundance-cinemas-announces-opening-date-new-theatre-bayou-place/

    so 2 more months!

I think this is great news as this location atttracts few kids and teens and caters to the real movie buff...and this sounds to be wanting to keep that same feel...

    = awesome!
