  1. I was only there one time a few years ago so it wouldn't be fair to say Grand Lux sux. -_- I do remember the décor was a bit over the top. I don't remember the food and service being good or bad but I never felt compelled to return.

haha you know why Grand Lux was created right? The Venetian in Las Vegas wanted to open with a Cheesecake Factory but CF thought they needed to create a new restaurant to match the glitz and glamor of Vegas, so GL was born! haha!

YES it is indeed over the top but i do like going there...although to be honest its more out of convenience too since my townhouse is directly behind it! haha! (but always good service and love sitting at the bar for usually no wait and quick service especially)

  2. Yeah I think the location was a bigger part of Little Bigs' success then they realize. I for one am much less likely to go to their new location.

truer words were never said...i finally decided to visit the new location and it lost of all its charm, coolness and oddly enough the food didnt taste as good haha....moving was a huge mistake... r.i.p.

  3. Hey just wanted to let everyone know that North Italia opened at Blvd Place a couple of weeks ago...

i personally love the atmosphere, lighting, food and (maybe) most importantly the service (and staff) are incredible! (fair pricing as well)

Since my work and home are both walking distance i have already been about 6 times and from appetizers, to happy hour to brunch, everything really has been excellent! (personal faves: grilled artichoke, margherita pizza (just 8 bucks at happy hour!), chicken parmesan and the olive oil cake for dessert! (oh and the truffle garlic bread and the vanilla marscapone/lemon curd donuts are wowsa!!!)

(*and they have a super cool indoor/outdoor bar perfect for good weather days or nightime)

  4. I just wanted to let everyone know that North Italia http://northitaliarestaurant.com/locations/houston/ opened up the other day and i LOVE it! great food, good prices (3 to 6pm happy hour m-f and ALL DAY SUNDAY!) i really like the decor, then the atmosphere and the food is really great (margherita pizza, the roasted artichoke and the olive oil cake are all favorites so far...) but its the STAFF that really makes the place...the bartenders especially are personable and cool and have had a blast a few times already sitting at the bar and hanging out drinking, eating and meeting some super cool people. check it out! (south side/middle of the building)

  5. Honestly I am glad SOMETHING is being put in front of the old Galleria portion....the "luxury jewel box" as its called will definitely cover up the old ugly galleria...i have been dying for someone to just powerwash the facade of the Galleria at the very least haha! I love the Galleria but the north east end to middle has need a facelife for sometime now... hopefully the rest of the galleria will catch up to the luxury jewel box and what the north west side is going to look like!
