  1. What talk shows have been taped in Houston? I know that Debra Duncan was taped in Houston and what else? also Texas Justice is still taped at the Fox 26 studios. The reason I ask is because I was watching abc13 KTRK when I got home last night, it was about 1:00am and there was this talk show called "Confessions" with Wash Allen. He had an auddience and everything. I had never heard of it so I looked it up on the internet and I found this on the KCOH website. If your taste for talk radio gravitates toward conversation focusing on interpersonal relationships, check out "Confessions" with nationally syndicated host, Wash Allen. Wash plays the music from 11 AM until 12:00 PM every weekday when he opens up the phone lines to his "soothsayers" and the fun begins. "Confessions" with Wash Allen continues until 2 PM. But thats a radio show taped in Houston and I saw the TV Show. Does anyone know about this?
  2. Why have so many malls in Houston been let go? Why aren't these malls up graded? Sharpstown Greens Point North West Mall Which other malls?
  3. I went to the Galleria yesterday, and everyone was dressed so well. I mean I thought I was in New York or something. All the women looked like models. they all had class and had on the best looking clothes. And they call Houston one of the fattest cities in America, I don't think so. I think many cities are envy of Houston in many ways. First we went to drove by Highland Village just because I wanted to so my family. They were amazed, they never knew that area of Houston existed. They saw all of the palm trees with christmas lights rapped around them and the stores that had bowes on them made to look like gifts. Uptown Houston looked like a very large city itself. The parking garage near the Cheese Cake Factory was pretty full so we parked above ground. Looking around the view is amazing! Lots of people driving Hummers, Jaguars, mercades, etc. Last time I went to the Galleria I saw a Maybach. This was also the coldest I have ever seen Houston! We got there at 7:00 pm and left the Galleria at 10:00pm. It was dark and cold but nice!
  4. I am on my way to the Galleria now. It will be a little over an hour.
  5. There is a guy from Houston on the current Real World.
  6. I beat they will try to make Texas look bad.
  7. "Real World" Hits Lone Star State by Sarah Hall Dec 22, 2004, 2:15 PM PT The original reality show is making its way down to the Lone Star State. A music-driven season 16 of MTV's The Real World will begin production in Austin early next year, the network and city officials announced Tuesday. "Austin is one of the most dynamic and diverse cities in the United States," said Lois Curren, executive vice president of MTV Series Entertainment, in a statement. "As the live music capital of the nation and home to a thriving college community, Austin is the perfect backdrop for The Real World's 16th season." Previous seasons of The Real World have taken place in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, Chicago, Las Vegas, Paris and San Diego. Season 15, shot in Philadelphia, is currently airing on MTV, and has earned strong ratings for the network. The season finale is set for Feb. 22. The 14th season, shot in San Diego, was the highest rated season in Real World history, proving that the franchise is still going strong. The series, which debuted in New York in 1992, features a group of late teens and early 20-somethings living together for four months and having every aspect of their life captured on film "to find out what happens when they stop being polite and start getting real." In past seasons, "getting real" has entailed everything from physical contact of a friendly nature to physical contact of a violent nature. Feelings have been hurt, hearts have been broken, eating disorders have gone into overdrive...all in the name of good television. Now, the latest group of camera-hungry strangers is preparing to set off on a televised adventure, unmindful of the utter humiliation almost guaranteed to ensue in months to come, when their respective significant others and grandmothers tune in to their MTV-edited hijinks. (Our advice to all Real Worlders: yes, there are cameras in the bedrooms! Don't pretend you were never warned.) "They say everything is bigger and better in Texas, and The Real World is no exception," said Jon Murray, creator and executive producer of The Real World and president of Bunim-Murray Productions. "Our Austin cast may be the best we've ever assembled, and I know they're going to feel right at home in this vibrant city." Austin's mayor, Will Wynn, was enthusiastic about his city playing host to MTV's latest gaggle of hot-tub hopping, booze-swilling, loft-living strangers picked to have their lives taped. "MTV has discovered what we all know, that Austin is a great place to live, work and play. We have a spectacular quality of life, particularly if you're young, energetic, educated, driven, and have a passion for the outdoors and live music," Wynn said in a statement. "I'm excited about the opportunity to showcase our city to viewers around the world." The Real World: Austin is set to debut in June.
  8. Why are the Metro light rail lines so short? Why not have about ten cars to a train?
  9. Hey Scotch, have you noticed the new Wendy's near George Bush Libray? It's in one of those Gas station shopping center things. They are building those every where. There is another Gas station shopping center going up on Villa Maria and FM 2818. I wonder what resturants this one will have.
  10. Look at the downtown tunnels, they work. The only time I have heard of the flooding was back in 2001 with Hurricane .......? But any was there are ways around this problem. And Yes Atlanta does flood. But not as much as Houston does. But Houston is improving it's flood problem with deeper bayous.
  11. I don't care what any of you say Houston would be very cool with a subway running from Downtown to Uptown. So what about floods there are ways around it. There is just something very cool associated with subaways and a urban city. Heres a picture of the subway line in Atlanta. Atlanta is not as urban as Houston but the subway line makes you feel like your in a big and important city.
  12. No Bryan is the best place to put it. Because College Station has all of the others. Bryan does need a freebirds though. Downtown would be a good place for free birds. or the Tejas center.
  13. I would never Shop at stores like this either unless I had the money to. But what I think is that by having these types of stores they bring with them a certain since of PRESTIGE to the city. Think about only a few cities can support these types of retail and yours is one of them. Just think if Houston did not have the Galleria or any of it's fancy stroes, you would not like that and you would wonder why. Since Houston does have highclass stores you know that the owners of those bussiness see something in Houston, they know the wealth is there.
  14. They could make the new section look like Times Square. Put out door entrances to all of the stores. Make each store look like a diffrent building with a mega sized Toys R Us like Time Square has.
