  1. i just realized this. i went to my google earth to see if it will make an impact on the skyline and it definatley will. i put the buildings up on G.E, and i have the mainplace site as a placemark on G.E. i viewed downtown from the famous view (the west), and realized that you will be able to see it easily between bank of america and one shell plaza. i dont know how to photocrop so this is the best i can do.

  2. i absolutely love this building. one thing what is "IMO"? and with hines going to the old shamrock site which is supposed to be the site for the 60= houston city centre does that mean city centre is cancelled? im praying that it isnt because i would love to see it built too. but when they mentioned hines' second site, is it possible that the site is across the street from houston city centre and still have the main, texas, and capitol adress?

  3. i hope it will look like one of pickard chilton usual designs like the aim and the atlanta one. i think it will add a new style in houston and will set off a new style boom in downtown. i havent really heard and if i have i forgot. but when exactly does hines 47 (800 main) breakground?

  4. when i first saw that discovery tower was planning to build, i saw that it was going to be at least 31 floors and great potential to make it to 50 floors. yet everytime i see a thing on it, it says 31 floors. i really hope it goes to at least 40-45 floors. and do we still not have a rendering on this yet?

  5. well, six houston center, turnberrry tower are the only ones that i couldnt find an address. but they could also be talking about how there are so many buildings being proposed that they meant to say that they arent sure if they are going to be built or not... im just throwing an assumtion out there, just trying to help..

  6. well, with the brick at the bottom and then an all glass tower on the top... would that standout with the buildings around it or will it just be some other tall building in houston that didnt live up to the hype? the architect on the project has very futuristic desgins with the other buildings he has done. the one on top of my head is the never built AIM Corporate Headquarters that would have been in the galleria. im curious how he can make a postmodern building with a little bit of 1900's houston with it.. it could be a challenge dont you think?...

  7. channel 11 news reported today that the houston conservation council is going to try to make hines design it the "old" houton way, since they cant save the montague. by the "old" way, do they just mean another brown or tan block that just rises into the sky like a giant brick???
