  1. I didn't see this post till just now:

A sex shop? In the age of the internet? Not likely to happen, but ok, I'll bite. There used to be a Zone D'Erotica near my current home, but that blasted internet drove it away years before I moved here. Now it's an Autozone, or maybe it's the Krystal next door. Either way, I don't care in the least. There's a headshop probably no more than a mile from my doorstep, but I really couldn't care less about that either. What really annoys me is having to drive through a 20 mph school zone (on a four lane road no less) in order to avoid the traffic hell that is 1960. When I'd initially located that shortcut to I-45, school wasn't in session. I MOVED HERE EXPECTING I'D NEVER HAVE TO DRIVE THROUGH A SCHOOL ZONE!!!!!! Bjtch, bjtch, moan, moan, whine, whine, etc.

You need to take a lude, man. If your not familiar with what that is, it's a late 70's/80's drug that will make you forget your problems, and quick. Oh, and with an 8 pack of "Little Kings", it'll keep ya there for the night.

Seriously, your taking this snob thing WAY to personal.

  2. Seriously, can we lay off the 'bungalows as people' rhetoric? Your argument is that a 90 year old house, one of thousands in Houston and 10s of thousands in the US, is more important than the person who owns it, so important that the government may swoop in and effectively take it from me, merely allowing me to live in it, but only if I fix it up the way they say. It is all so disgusting, so reminiscent of a communist country. I mean, really, people stood up in public and said this district is 'for the greater public good'? It's all just about enough to make me barf in my historic spitton on my back porch.

Careful Red, you almost sound republican here.

  3. Do you really think sarcasm directed toward a con-artist like Joel Osteen is an insult to religion in general? Joel Osteen and those of his ilk is what should offend you.

Osteen and his character (or lack thereof) have nothing to do with my comment... The fact is that anything of a Christian nature whether it be political, religious, etc is met with smart A#$, and insulting comments all the time on HAIF, regardless of subject matter. I'm sick and tired of anti religious biggots like Attica and his "ILK" poisening this site, and quite frankly, would bet a thousand bucks that Mr Finch wouldn't run his mouth like he does face to face. If you would like to discuss some of these things in person, It's very easy to find me and the venues I play around town via my web site Mr Finch (see link below). No, I'm not threatening you, but would love to have a face to face chat to maybe explain to you the error of your ways.

I'm no holy roller boys, but I do have my limits with classless wimps that constantly run their mouths about those of us who believe in God (or might be Republican). There are ways to discuss religion without throwing the baby out with the bath water. It's called having respect for each other, something that a few of you should consider. True that this thread is more benign than other religious ones, but it's still making HUGE assumptions about a man that happens to have a big church. What the hell do you know about him and his relationship to God? Maybe he's changing peoples lives for the postive. Of course according to Mr Finch, he's a moron since he's a Republican, which in turn probably means that many in his church must be as well, so nevermind. And No Mr Finch, I am not confusing religion and politics. Maybe you could read the first few posts of the thread before making that comment.

Let me be clear that I am not a John Osteen fan and dissagree with quite a few things, however, I have enough respect for him not to make such broad brushed statements as you have above.

Obviously, most will think I'm blowing this out of proportion and I probably am for this thread in particular, but this is the straw for me. I'm also pretty sure that at this point, this post will either be edited or taken down altogether. In the past I would have been concerned, but no more.

Wayne if you'll still have me after this I'll still lurk, but my posting days at HAIF are over.

  4. Lighten up.

    I hate to disappoint you.

Edit: And for what it's worth, when I was a kid I saw some Christian concerts there too. It was Carmen and Stryper if I'm not mistaken.

How could you dissapoint? Aside from a certain other member, your the poster child of religious offense here.

Edit: Still can't see my posts when replying.

  5. How about we move the stadiums to Katy so you guys can support it more fully and I can stop paying taxes to these dumb things.

Look, I am not a Katy booster, but am addressing how rediculous some of the attitudes are regarding DT or nothing. Houston is a sprawling city that is made up of many communities, that's just the way it is. Just because I live in Katy (actually am in the Houston ETJ) doesn't mean I don't support the Houston Stadia with my dollars. Do I pay taxes for those stadiums, etc, No, but that was not the reason I moved here. I still love Houston and consider myself a Houstonian, and support the city almost daily through my retail dollars. If the tax issue is a problem then you might talk with the city about it's decision not to annex the area where I live.

Again, My point was only to emphasize how goofy it is to have the DT or nothing attitude, especially in Houston.

Edit" Can't see anything in my response except for the first line.

  6. Yeah I saw this last night. This is good news. Why they would want to move way out to the middle nowhere is beyond me... Strike another one for Houston! :)

Do you ever post anything than even remotely make sense? Sure it's a good thing that KBR is remaining DT, but there are a plethora of reasons why the Katy Address could be positive and since they have already been mentioned here I won't bother explaining. Remember that even the morons that decided to live "in The middle of nowhere" (Katy) still view themselves as a a part of Houston and make it possible for the city to claim it's current metropolitan status, stadia support, retail support, among other accolades. In other words, most of us are on the same team. Grow up!

Edit: removed further, but needed insults.

  7. If it's across from the waterwall that would place it where the highrise condo project (can't remember the name) was supposed to sit... Right? Now that I think about it that can't be the spot if it's supposedly sitting on the rail line. Anyone?

Edit: Duh... Obviously if it has a Post Oak address it's not the lot I asked about above. I'm assuming it's the lot across from the pocket park on 610/Post Oak.

  8. I think Kubiak is a good coach, but lousy at bringing intensity to his team which to me is their biggest issue. I've never seen a team than was so consistently in a position to win games to only choke in the end. Sure some blame goes to player execution, but a lot of that has to do with a coaches mental power over his team and whether they believe they can win in the end. The Texans don't believe it.

Kubiak and his staff also seem to be very slow at adjusting they're game plan at times. They waited until the second to last Titans drive to start a man on man defense and to strt ghosting Young, which I found perplexing.

  9. ;) .....we are just fine up here in Dallas.......still progressing...thanx for the update and concern....of course you have alot of time on your hands because it only takes 10 min to shop at all the stores at HP......Oh and good to see or hear or read u again too.

Are you for real? You've got to put up a little bit better fight my friend from the north. Try a little salt on that crow, it'll go down easier.

Seriously, I take no joy in Dallas' CBD falling to such vacancy levels, but it sure is fun when folks like Dallasboi get their hats handed to em.

  11. I have an idea - stop getting other team's washed up backups and get a real QB. And quit looking like idiots in front of the national media by writing crap on your shoes about getting money you definitely didn't earn.

Ditto... Matt's a pretty accurate QB, but is the type of guy who will always get injured. It seems like it follows him. Robinson should be fined and then have his ass handed to him by the rest of the defense for his display.

  12. At least Kubiak told the truth which was putting blame on the coaching staff. This staff has a huge problem motivating it's players and it's been obvious for a couple of years. Kubiak is a good offensive coach, but not even a decent head coach. He's also made some big mistakes like bringing in such a small O-line which is getting bullied by almost everyone. The Texans may get some pride back and win a few games, but they're screwed this year.

I say bring in Bill Cowher and let's get the Texans into some smash mouth, power house football.
