    "The new 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center, which will be known as the Houston Texas Distribution Center, will be constructed on a 108-acre site in unincorporated Harris County northwest of Houston at Roberts Road and U.S. Route 290. The property is being developed by Houston-based Hines, and although the cost is not disclosed, the company said it was a significant investment."

    Groundbreaking expected in spring with completion in 2026. Planning for 400 employees within a year of opening.

  2. Johnson Development starts construction on Kresston community - Houston Business Journal (bizjournals.com)

    "Johnson Development has started clearing the first 600 acres of the property, Kresston General Manager Virgil Yoakum said. The remaining 800 acres, part of which are in Grimes County, are under contract with Crown Ranch Development Ltd., and Johnson Development expects to close on the land later this year."

    "Texas City will be home to one of the nation’s first Sports Illustrated Resorts, next to the 12-acre Crystal Lagoon in Land Tejas’ master-planned community Lago Mar.

    A joint venture between Houston-based Lagoon Development Co. and Sports Illustrated hotel and resort licensee Sports Hospitality Ventures LLC is developing the resort."

    200 rooms on "at least" 6 stories, to be located on the southeast side of the Lagoon. Groundbreaking planned for Q3 2024.

    The rendering of the structure from the article mentions it is a "generic" SI Resort

  4. Western Galveston getting mixed-use with hotel, condos, restaurants - Houston Business Journal (bizjournals.com)

    "Mohamed Eldawy, through his new company, Royal Crown Enterprise LLC, last month purchased about 16 acres on the western-most edge of the Seawall from members of the Maceo family, a famous Galveston clan that goes back to the island’s gambling and bootlegging era of the early 20th century."

    The site would be built out in three phases. The first would begin sometime next year.

    Phase I

    -Bars & restaurants built "around a courtyard" - per the article

    -10 to 12 story condo tower (270-300 2 and 3 bedroom units)

    Phase II

    -7 story senior living building (80 1 and 2 bedroom units)

    -7 story hotel (120-150 rooms)

    Phase III

    -2 building, 270 unit apartment complex of unknown height
