I forgot that this forum is absolutely ridiculous. I guess pictures are evil ... no more than 15 per post, and then some sort of limitation about combined posts??

I think Tulsa is the prettiest mid-major metro, between 500,000 and 2 mil.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother.

I created a state-wide Texas urban forum, where you can of course talk about Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston and the big cities, but there's a bit of a focus on the smaller towns, where large chunks of the state get their own forum. Perhaps Texas needs a place to come together?
Anyway, I intended on actually having this up a few months ago, but it got put on the back burner when my OkMet was hacked...eventually we may get a url for the site, and the skin is a work in progress.
We're also going to recommend this forum to users who just want to talk about their one city...which is cool, too.
Check us out one of these days if you're interested...

It has seemed to be one surgery after the next. I am under the impression that he is still on the team. They just aren't paying him...
You read the article wrong. The Astros declined to pick up Bagwell's option year, and instead, paid the $7 million buyout. In other words, he is STILL worthless on the playing field, so they are not going to pay $18 million for a broken player.Huge difference from denying a buyout clause.
I read it just fine. They cancelled his $18M deal and paid the $7M buyout clause, it's in my first post.
-
Apparently the Astros club denied Bagwell his $18M buy-out clause, but will give him a $7M buyout to complete the 5-year deal. I don't know how I feel about this...but of course his health has really been down in the dumps lately. It's so sad.
I would love to see him stay with the team I love.

Oh I see!

No prob. Why would I get pics of the mall or Lindsey? Coach's is on Main Street in downtown Norman so I may take a picture some day.

There a ton more shots...... but this forum won't let me post all of them.

This is actually Part II in a 1,000+ photo series I've been doing of the inner parts of Norman, where I live. Photos are of the western fringe of OU and surrounding hoods. Here goes:

After the Urban OK hacking we decided we wanted to come back in a big way. We've been working privately on a new forum project that will rock Oklahoma's cyber space and promises to be a huge success. The url is http://okmet.org and if you have any Oklaohma ties whatsoever we'd love to hear from you, and if not, then ok, we'd still love to hear from you and extend that good ol' Oklahoma Hospitality you Texans are also known for.

BOO!
C'mon... have a hart.
-
Who here thinks Metro Rail is a pretty bland name? Howabout if we named it the Hart? (Like Dart, but better.)
-
I'm sorry, back to square one.... is all of this being developed at the Raveneaux country club, or is this a seperate development?
-
Oh my goodness! Thanks for the updates...

We had about 400 members and about 12,000 posts.

For those of you who read the Urban OK forums every now and then to see what's happening up in OKC and Tulsa, we sadly announce that we've been hacked and that we are going to see if we feel like starting a new forum. The new url is http://okmetropolis.forumer.com and obviously any foruming is greatly appreciated now more than ever as we try to get back on our feet.

Ya, I'd love to help. I'll be 'spartan'.

Great! Let's all go over there and talk about how much better Houston is than Atlanta.
Indeed. But seriously, I was planning on starting something my own and getting a domain for a mere $24 (after I get the urbanok domain) but I've been waiting for someone in the footsteps of ATL CityScape to come along. I even made the banner...

One of the City of Faith buildings, the CityPlex Tower, at over 700 feet is the state's tallest for who asked.

Would you move back?

North by IAH. I never thought anyone with the username Montrose, or especially this guy with the username Montrose, would be interested in a house out in the suburbs but his garden sure is nice. I sometimes forget how nice palms can look in the middle of gardens. I wish they would grow up here...
Anyway, and good freeway/Greenway shots too.

Ahh good news. So now Bush and his main ally besides Blair in this war will meet and talk it over.

A nice Arts District walk, west of DT OKC
in Meanwhile, In The Rest of the World...

The Arts District west of downtown is a really bustling area with a lot of City of OKC buildings, and a lot of cultural resources. There's still a lot of old restaurant that have been in there for ever, like Coney Island which has been there since the 20s. I was hoping to do a whole district-wide tour but my batteries died out, so... sorry. I've thrown in one of KMG Tower and another of Main Street, I took those two separately, a day apart.
