I can tell you Houston has quite a ways to go. After visiting in LA, San Francisco, and Seattle, you can see how far Houston is behind. I'm sure Houston is better than other major cities in the South, but still has a ways to go.

For the most part is true, but with the recent influx of Asian immigrants over the past few years, i've seen an increase in public assistance. Quite a few are illegal also, but are able to work and keep their secret away from others.

That is the reason why. They will under-report their taxes, so cash only at most places. Especially, the bread/sandwich shops. To me, the old Chinatown will always be downtown. Everything built after the late 80s is considered new Chinatown. Also, try San Dong(same shopping center as Jasmine at Bellaire/Beltway 8)restaurant, it has reasonable prices, but cash only. Very small place,but it specializes in noodles/wonton food.

on one bill. Every year, i get two different statements. One from Wheeler Associates and one from Patsy Schultz. Why don't they just combine this?

Is it just me or is Hilton Koch only been in business for like 5-6 yrs? I remember his commercials appearing only 5-6 yrs ago. Man, the furniture business must be real good!! I guess Mattress Mac didn't monopolize the furniture biz in Houston!

I believe that no team out there can beat a healthy T-Mac, Yao , and Rockets. Yes, i really believe that a healthy Rockets team(especially those two) can beat any team out there. That includes San Antonio and Dallas, Phoenix, etc. in a 7 game series. With Shane and a good bench, this team should win it all.

I'm glad Petitte is gone. The guy was useless last year. He certainly isn't worth 16 million. I hope Roger doesn't return either. He is greedy. Didn't these guys come back to Houston a few seasons ago mentioning that money wasn't an issue and wanted to play for their hometown. Well, i guess money is now the issue. I'm tired of Roger playing games. He needs to get lost and the Astros need to look for young talented free agents out there. They blew it with Carlos Beltran. Oh well, Carlos Lee is a good step forward.

There is a Vietnamese buddhist temple on Synott between Bissonett & West Bellfort. There is a Chinese Buddhist temple on Bellaire between Wilcrest & ?(across from Haliburton/KBR). There is a Buddhist temple on Edgebrook and 45s.

This guy is good. I've seen his reports. Young and articulate with good info. He and Vicente Arenas are good reporters. I like them.

Does any local sports fan viewer agree with me? I've been watching local sports news for years and this guy is the worst of the sports directors/anchors. His highlight clips are short, he forgets to mention some sports stories compared to other stations, and he hardly has exclusives. Tim Melton should be his boss. Now, Mark Berman, has to be the best local sports director/anchor in town. This is what you call a guy who is really dedicated to his job. Highlights, scoops, and inside/in-depth stories.

You could see the writing on the wall when they went to 3 anchors several years ago. Actually, i had a feeling that Dominique was going to move up because of her looks. I remember Shermin Chow was there before Dominique came on and all of sudden, Dominique takes her position as Anchor on weekends. Shermin then leaves for Channel 11. After that, the 3 anchor deal with Linda, Bill, and Dominique. I just knew that Linda's days were numbered. Channel 2 said that they had to do a shakeup because of ratings, so why not let go of Dominique and Bill. Might as well over-haul the whole crew cuz they stink. Now, we get old boring Jerome Gray who leaves KHOU which he was part of for so many years..hmmm...maybe another story in itself. I have to admit, Jennifer Reyna and Wendy Corona are hot.

Well, it is true what you said. However, Houston is not an Asian friendly kind of city. Maybe the writer was meaning that Houston was not Asian friendly, which is so true.
