  1. Lutheran North, LEAH, is closing at the end of this academic year. It is unknown what will happen to the several large plots the school was occupied along the 34th St. corridor.

this is an expensive neighborhood with a lot of children. There is a well attended Catholic school at the north edge. This seemed like a place this type of school would thrive.

  3. I work for the state in Austin. I was at Harris county but got poached for a WFH position and it’s great. And I get globs of time off, but I do travel to a lot. I get my sweet Austin job and my lunch break walks around garden oaks.

  4. I used to work in this building on a high floor. The building has been chopped up and renovated so many times the only charming area is the lobby. Everything else is covered in indoor outdoor carpet and latex paint. It’s a really depressing building. My window faces the courthouse complex and on sunny days the HVAC couldn’t cool it and I just worked from home after 1 so I wouldn’t sweat through my shirt.

  5. My husband and I drive by this building regularly going to stuff out west I’ve always thought it looked so odd. I thought about making a haif thread for it and I’m glad I didn’t because I know I wouldn’t have found this thread.

This and the other energy corridor  residential conversion makes me wonder, are rents cheaper in these converted units because they don’t have balconies? Exterior space has always been a must have for me.

If Target will be nearby then what about Walmart?  The nearest store is on Yale and I-10.  Actually Walmart would be perfect for that location.

The Walmart is on crosstimbers near 45 it is about two miles away. This is targeting a higher end clientele per all the reports and press materials. A Walmart is not destination shopping, it’s something to be avoided at all costs.

  7. Issue is we’ve had retraction in Houston. Sprouts and Whole Foods cut stores, Randall’s is almost out of the game entirely. Too big for a TJ. A target is going up the other side of 610 and HEB is 8 minutes from here. There’s a Kroger deep in GOOF but it truly sucks.

My DREAM is a central market.

  8. It was a good move for Wabash who own the land and are closer to the big lot neighborhoods in GOOF with less competition from Jonathan’s and the other heights nurserys and hardware stores.

I agree the road is too busy. It will be getting building forward developments like south of 610. You already see that with Ibiza on shepherd apartments and the upcoming shoppes at shepherd. A ton of the scrap yards even further north are for sale.
