  1. Hell we've come a long way from, "Go down to the third tree on the right, just past the two tomato cans on the fifth fence post, down across the third creek bridge, past the red horse barn on the left, headed out towards Field Store Rd." Don't you think?
  2. Tearing down the Dome would be much like tearing down the Empire State Building because it's old and out dated and in need of upgrading. I don't care where you go in the world, you mention Astrodome, and people immediately think Houston. It was the first of it's kind, so far ahead of it's time. I watched it being built, attended that first game there, and will never forget being literally in awe of the building.
  3. That's a shame, I use the lot and service as much as anyone I thought, and have never had this trouble. Maybe it's because I use Continental more often than not. Just never had any trouble with Parking Cents Lots or Shuttle.
  4. That's Parking Cents Piggy Bank Mac.........my choice also.
  5. Parking Cents lot!!! The shuttle works great and often, I've never waited more than 5 minutes on a shuttle. EZ Tag billing, no hassle trying to keep p with a parking entry receipt, good security never had or heard of any thefts, I average 150-180 days a year parked in the Parking Cents lot. When I land I am in my vehicle and on the Hardy within 20 minutes. Takes longer to walk from my gate to the shuttle, than to get from the terminal to my vehicle and gone. I do the same thing at Salt Lake City, (I keep a vehicle up there), and or when I fly into Durango, I take a shuttle to my home in Pagosa Springs where I have several vehicles. Anywhere else I use Budget Rental Car except in Dubai where I use Dream Car LLC.
  6. You really have to have a passion for it. It can be the toughest business in town at times. More cut throats than a than a three masted schooner flying the Jolly Roger. Power to you man, none of have much sense anyway no matter what business we are in.
  7. Damnit Gary its puff puff pass... not puff puff puff puff.........
  8. I was almost sure Bart Truxillo was on this forum, if not, he'd be a guy to get into contact with, he was a big in Magnolia Restoration and knows as much as anyone on the subject.
  9. Yeah that's the same stadium that they set the most consecutive winning seasons in NFL history record, 20 years 1966-1985, and the most Super Bowl appearances in NFL History, 1970, 1971, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1992, 1993, 1995, And (twice) the Most Sacks in one NFL game (12) vs. the Houston Oilers (9-29-1985), vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (11/20/66) (this was actually in the Cotton Bowl back then) Don't go bashing the Cowboys just because you don't have a lot to cheer about with the Texans. At least make a playoff game before you start bashing another team for losing one, two, six, or eleven. When was the last time a Houston Football team played in a playoff? 1993? And one their first NFL divisional title of any kind (one of only two) in 1991, and 1993 but fell short of going to the Super Bowl. Oh and wait, what happened that year in 1993, oh yeah the Cowboys won their 4th Super Bowl, back to back with 1992. Give it a rest. Spend more of that wasted energy rooting for the Texans, because they are starting to come together, and hopefully in the near future playing for their own division title. I am a fan of the Texans, I am also a Cowboy fan, had to be because I had a person issue with Bud Adams and Chip Webster, had really nothing to do with the Oilers per-say, just Adams Resources, and business dealings I had had with them. I just could stand watching that pompous SOB sitting up there like he was somebody he wasn't. He was a real POS IMHO. And to this day I don't believe Kenny shot himself. I had breakfast with Kenny that Morning at Field Store, (Susie and he lived 5 minutes from me.) and he seemed perfectly fine to me. He and Bud had been at each other over him talking about moving the Oilers out of Houston. Kenny was on the Board of the Houston Livestock Show, and had a lot of ties to the Astrodome. Kenny was one of the biggest reason why the Rodeo did as well as it does. He brought in a lot more corporate support than it had had in times past. He and Bud had a big falling out over it at the HLS earlier that year. Kenny was going to spill the beans on some of his ole man's underhanded dealings with KSA if his dad didn't give up his campaign to move the team out of Houston. I can't prove it, but I think Bud had something to do with Kenny's death. If you go down to San Antonio today and talk to Susie Q, she will tell you she thinks her ex-father-in-law had him killed. Something was just fishy about the whole deal.
  10. Been a great haul for sure. Congrats Wayne.
  11. I don't know about y'all, but out in the neck of the woods we grew up in, we swam naked all the time, we didn't even own swim trunks. If we went to Galveston we wore homemades to keep from going to the pokey. What's the big deal, skinny dipping has been around since the beginning or time. Just don't see the issue. Junior High back then isn't like it is now days. Kids were still kids back then. Nowadays kids grow up too fast or at least they think they do. Some really do. My wife has had some of her fifth graders come up pregnant, never heard of such a thing back in grade school. Shoot if you got to kiss a girl by the 6th grade in the 50's you were Hugh Hefner! Things just aren't like they used to be.
  12. No I just chose 100 as the cut off, all the stat for receivers go up to 350 but I just chose 100 as the cut off, you have to draw the line somewhere statistically, 100 is a good round number, you can cut it off at 50 and the trend is going to still be close. My point being Brady has got the better receivers, especially this year, be it injuries, or whatever. Just like this year Romo's receivers have better numbers, is it due to Romo hitting his receivers with a higher percentage rate, sure it has a bearing, how many in the hands balls has TO dropped, it's in double digits I can assure you. As I said earlier, I was surprised by the receiver numbers put up by Houston this year, it shows promise, and they certainly haven't had the QB caliber of a Brady, Romo, or Manning throwing to them. I think it is a good sign. If Schuab comes around and plays to his full potential things could look up for H-Town. Right now I would just lie them to finish 8-8, that would be a first for the franchise and a high point for the season. 500 ball is not a losing season, not a winning one either, but it beats the heck outta what they have been doing.
  13. Sorry I just used the present stats, didn't just choose the worst. Indy 2006 3 in the top 100 2005 2 in the top 100 2004 3 in the top 100 2003 1 in the top 100 2002 4 in the top 100 Pats 2006 4 in the top 100 2005 4 in the top 100 2004 5 in the top 100 2003 3 in the top 100 2002 4 in the top 100 More Egg Nog Please....................
  14. Are you still tipsy over the egg nog? Only Reggie Wayne is in the top 50 (ranked #1 above Randy Moss) Dallas Clark is ranked 59th in the league, Anthony Gonzales is ranked 65th, Ben Utecht is 105th, Joeseph Addai is 109th, Marvin Harrison is ranked 140th in the NFL, Bryan Fletcher is ranked 208th, Devin Aromashodu is 250th, Kenton Keith is ranked 262nd, Aaron Moorehead is 279th, Craphonso Thorpe is 298th, Clifton Dawson is 362nd, Luke Lawton is in a five way tie for 412th. The Pats have three in the top 50 Moss (#2) and Walker (#15) are in the top 20 in the league, Donte' Stallworth rounds out the top 50. Jabar Gaffney is ranked 85th. Benjamin Watson is 122th, Kevin Faulk is 121st, and so on and so forth. A surprising number is Houston has 3 receivers in the top 35 in the league. That's a promising number if they can stay healthy elsewhere. Got to get a big game back to help free up the passing game some. Dayne is in his 8th season, and not going to make it much more. Green is in his 19th and he's toast. Jury is still out on Walker. He had a good game against the Colts. The OL has stepped it up well, they are coming together. Just going to take a few key players and the Texans may get in the playoffs.
  15. Can you imagine Manning with a say Randy Moss to throw to? Manning with a show stopping receive would be many rings in Indy. Houston needs a big time receiver that draws double coverage every time. That will free up other options and slow the blitz down. Like TO hate TO whatever, when he s in the game he draws coverage and attention. It helps Romo get Whitten open more often. Randy Moss, same story, he makes Brady's day a lot easier with just his presence. Schaub has a decent release time and he reads coverage well, it makes up for what he lacks in arm strength. He just needs a show stopper in the routes. The line did a fairly good job today, they need to be recognized for that. It's just going to take some more key components to make the watch really tick. Draft well and make some trades. If the Texans beat Jax next week, that puts them at 8-8, that's no mans land for them. A five hundred season is improvement, and just a few blown plays from a winning season. Next game could be a big boost for next season.
  16. The biggest factor, I think, was the deep play of the secondary. You will never beat the Colts playing off the line. You have to smack the recievers coming off the line to disrupt their rhythm, the Texans played way to deep & that falls to the D coordinator.
  17. For Sure, Basically speaking the O-line did a fairly good job overall & there was no bad pressure on Sage all day, I can't recall him getting sacked once. His GPS was just way off, and Rosenfels 22/36 233yds 2 TD's 3 INT's, just killed the offense. No ground game to speak of, something 66 yds total, something has got to give soon. The secondary was asleep. Wonder if there was anyway we could get Westbrook from Philly? That guy is a dream. McNabb had a big game. Guess I'll watch to see if Miami can protect the '72 perfect season record of Dolphin greatness of days gone by.
  18. And the way they played today, they never will, jeez that was terrible. Texans really need to start looking at QB's in the draft and a Breakout receiver. I'm on the give Schaub a chance to showcase his ability wagon, they have to look at getting some better backup, and something for down the road, in case Schaub has any further issues with his health. It's only 6 yrs/$48 million if the Texans choose to pay the $10 million dollar option bonus in '09 which would extend his contract three years to 2012. Otherwise it's 3 yrs/$20 million with an 'out clause' after the '09 season. The Texans structured the contract smartly because the only way Schaub gets that bonus (theoretically at least*) is if he earns it. Staying healthy and on the field in '08 is fundamental to Schaub earning that bonus and kicking in the final three years of his deal. I hope he earns it because it means good things for the Texans. *Hopefully the Texans administration has learned its lesson with option bonuses for QBs. They have got to get a Marquee receiver, and possibly a long term running back and some secondary help for sure.
  19. I mean it doesn't even look like the same team, Sage has got to go, he had more INT's than Manning had TD's. Texans need to find a better BU or take a chance on a lower round draft pick QB and groom him.
  20. Texans are really peaking in the first half.....7-24, they can't seem to do anything right, stupid penalties and missed assignments. They have got to get pressure on Manning. They have got to find a way to disguise their defense, the audibles at the line of scrimmage are killing them. Peyton Manning, like it or not is the best play-changer in the game. Manning's professional career has been built on being able to recognize weaknesses in the defenses and shift the play via audibles before the snap. He is chopping the Texans defense to pieces, looks like a high school team out there. Jeez now it's 7-38 somebody call a taxi they're done.
  21. You could always vie for a State Income Tax to support the State Parks and other facilities, that away even the people that don't use the parks would have something to delicate flower about to. National Parks charge fees. We buy the $80 National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Annual Pass, it helps fund a lot of programs not covered by grants. TPWD has implemented the same type of deal, the actual cost is $60, but it gives you free entry to 113 different State facilities. It's a small price to pay to have something beautiful and clean to take people to visit. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/parkinfo/passes/parkpass/
