  1. That really sucks! That was the one place i was looking forward too the most............
  2. hahah yea true...... however many projects were canceled, including the bank of the southwest tower, that would have been one of the tallest buildings in the world.
  3. Its always bad timing for Houston. Whenever Houston starts to go building crazy it gets hit by some economic meltdown right before all the really cool projects get off the ground. Very upseting!
  4. The Denver Pavilions have been around for a long time, give the Houston pavilions some time. what did yall expect? That this one development would suddenly change downtown Houston over night? It is going to be ok, give it some time.
  5. How do yall not know what Lids is.....? They are in just about every mall. I buy all my hats from there.
  6. Umm there are some weird paintings of Greek statues on the side of the base facing Post Oak. And the rest is just Plain, the building over all looks good though.
  7. Most of the shows that have been there so far have been Hip Hop concerts......
  8. No kidding! I went down there the other day and i saw huge potential, wait until the whole thing is leased out before saying it sucks. I don't know why every body in this forum is so negative all the time.
  9. And when Lucky Strike opens along with the House of Blues and all the restaurants and bars this place is going to be pretty sweet. i will def be frequenting this place alot when i move down to midtown in a few months.
  10. This is a really cool idea. Maybe Houston will actually be in some movies, instead of LA, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Miami.
  11. I agree i hate when people refer to the area as the Gallaria. Its Uptown the Gallaria is the damn mall not a district of Houston.
  12. Any updates on this? I have not heard any thing about this project for a while.........
  13. Ummm i think the lighting downtown lately is terrible. the only building that has any lighting on top is the continental building. what happend to the light on top of the wells fargo tower or chase tower. the two tallest buildings in Houston dont light up the top at night. I realize it is probably more cost effective to not have lights on top but neon lighting dosnt cost that much. Downtown would look so much better if all the buidings were all lit up at night. Kind of like when we used to have that laser show every year, they lit up the skyline awesome for that event.
  14. Damn i knew this was going to happen this is really bad news. i was so excited about all the developments going up in Houston. Blvd place was going to be so awesome but if the Ritz its scaled down and the condo is removed it is just not going to be the same. It will just be another mediocre shoping center.
  15. I have noticed in the last few days that alot of ground has been moving in the empty lot next to the Mercer, and was wondering if the second tower was going up?
  16. Well i figured it was non since but i wanted to just see if anybody had heard anything about it
  17. I heard that there were three 80 story skyscrapers going up where Astroworld used to be, and that they were being built there because of FFA height restrictions down town. I doubt this is a seriouse topic but if any body has any info i would appreciate it.
  18. well the city just bought the land from flour danials and it is supposed to be for commercial development. I would imagine it is going to be another shopping center.
  19. how is the drive down 59 depressing. that is the stupidest things i have ever heard. please explain. because I think that 59 is one of the best drives in the city. i love all the development along the freeway. it makes you feel like you are in a city instead of some hick town.
