Looks like they are placing these on the bike path curb.

All lanes on Hempstead at 12th are now open after 6 months of no workers present, maybe the whole project is complete? I saw some workers on 11th this week but I don't go down that way.

I bet traffic time would be 0 if we tore down the highway. I think that's the argument the article is aiming for.

I drive through this intersection daily. The issue with 11th St. at TC Jester is there aren't any turn lanes, so traffic gets its own turn to turn left, but if a car has to yield to oncoming traffic in the left lane, then it backs up cars behind it. The same applies for right turns on red, 8 cars turn right but the 9th doesn't, blocking another 5 cars who could have gone.
It was like this before the construction.

Widening Highways Doesn’t Fix Traffic. So Why Do We Keep Doing It?
Maybe the point isn't to fix traffic?

I would be more sympathetic towards cyclists if I actually saw them using the dedicated road lanes. It is rare that I see a cyclist on Heights Boulevard. I do see a lot of cyclists on the Bayou Bikeways. I hope all of you snarky commenters put your money where your mouth is and bike to work every day and use mass transit.
Cyclists are on Heights Boulevard more often that you are, that's for certain. It's pretty pathetic to not have sympathy for someone literally risking their life to ride a bicycle in a dedicated bike lane.

What do you have in mind for the boundaries?
I think this area could be its own forum.

Highline Park in NYC is really cool. From its wikipedia page: The park became a tourist attraction and spurred real estate development in adjacent neighborhoods, increasing real-estate values and prices along the route. By September 2014, the park had nearly five million visitors annually, and by 2019, it had eight million visitors per year.
I think the Pierce Elevated should be kept, it has potential to become something never done before.

Can a railing be built that is strong enough to stop a bicyclist from knocking it over but light enough for debris to knock it over in a flood? And cheap enough to replace it 🙃

I was in town last few weeks and cannot believe Lofts at the Ballpark is closed down. We went to Little Woodrow's before the UH/Rice game and rode the rail to TDECU and I had no idea. Also didn't know Lucky's had closed. It was very sad to see the shape of the land between Dynamo Stadium and the Lofts. Dead grass and trash.
I'm assuming this is all a result of the TDOT? It's a damn shame that Texans keep allowing the shady organization to ruin our largest cities in the name of progress for the commuter.
There is a 58 page thread with 2.9k replies about the project.

Photos from the past week, uploaded them in chronological order but may be showing up out of order. They were working to finish all day yesterday.

Saw this sign post in Timbergrove yesterday, not sure what the impetus for this ordinance is or who it will effect, but the boundary is interesting as Wynnwood and Nashua do not meet, and the 1200 block of Bay Oaks is two blocks west of Nashua.

Hopefully no one was in there at the time. Especially with hot oil or hot stove that would be a bad accident.

How big can a shopping center be on a lot this small?

These are two major American cities. Airlines are earning record profits these days. Airplanes and airports are at maximum capacity.
Maybe that's why there are so few direct flights.
