  1. i can recommend a good restaurant in seabrook too. ;) KKK meets there occasionally.

it's like applebee's returning to houston. food is mediocre. a friend had a visitor here from FL and that is where she wanted to eat. i guess the chain is popular there. i refused and took her to some real restaurants and she thanked me afterwards!

I doubt I would prefer to eat around anyone like you.

I wondered if this double standard was gonna pop up! sorry for the social experiment, I couldn't resist any longer. truth is I think diversity is a good thing, I just wanted to know if it sounded different reading the post from a white guy's perspective versus the numerous posts on this forum from other races seeking there own so called "comfort" around their own races when looking for housing or dining or clubs.

  2. The Texans should've went 9-7 or 10-6 last year. How? They should've beaten Titans twice (8-8), the Giants (9-7), and Bufflao (10-6). That's Wild Card!

The Texans shoot their own foot in every game.

then why are you calling for david carrs head? those games for the most part were lost because defense breakdowns as with most of our losses. If we had better options then fine i think we could use improvement at that position but i dontthink the texans have seen it out there. im happy with what they have done so far this offesason

  3. My only problem with Carr is whether or not he can actually throw DOWNFIELD. He is excellent in the pocket in short yardage, with his little dump passes and screenplays. Can he throw to a reciever on the run in the post or streaking down the sidelines ? I just didn't see him do that last year. I don't know that Kubiak has the confidence that Carr can either, because of what I saw in the play calling last year.

I agree but I would have preffered to see Kubiak open it up and have carr throw it down the field, succeed or fail, let it be known. I saw Eric Moulds who never got open except on short crossing routes over the middle for the most part, Underutilized tight ends, and the few times he did go sown the field to Johnson it worked or didn't sometimes in bad throwing downs. If Kubes didn't have faith in him why not try out your theory and expose him as not good enough. thats my whole opinion on it. I havn't seen an NFL passing offense much in their whole history. I'm talking about balls in the air 15 yards and longer 30 percent of the time. not any supposed carr shortcomings because thats what they are supposed until we see him thro the ball downfield. we know he has the arm and the accuraccy. I just tend to think he doesn't have the time(obvious) or the personnel.

I totally agree, Pro. Carr is not the quarterback for this franchise. This man do circus acts on the field, tripping over his own two feet, getting his balls block more than I see in basketball. Don't blame the whole deal on the O-line, cause it's not all their fault.

You can coach and coach a player until you blue in the face, and still the player is lacking. I won't blame the coaching for David Carr problems. Kubiak came from 2 Championship teams, and 3 Super Bowl rings. Beleive me he knows want it takes to become a champion.

Besides, does it really matter if Carr stays, or not? If he stays we still be a losing team, so might as well go ahead and get another vertern quarterback.

STOP MAKING CARR INTO SOMETHING HE'S NOT!! PLEASE! LET IT GO!

do you disagree that this team was closer to 8-8 last year (closer than they were to sucking) with the fourth toughest schedule in the league?

  4. the fact that carr hasn't been traded says to me that he wasn't really on the market. I think the Texans just entertained offers because the desire was out there. But no one blew them away which is what it would have taken. All these mediocre quarterbacks getting signed should tell you something most people fail to see Carr is or has potential to be better than any of these guys moved in free agency.

The fact that he led the league in completion percentage on a bad team should tell you something. Consider that this past year's texans team was a lot closer to

8-8 than 4-12. The fact that the titans won more games is attributed to the fact that they defensive playmakers and a great coach.

I for one will be real dissapointed if the team gets rid of Carr for inferior talent just for the sake of change. I think i have more faith in them as proffesionals to evaluate talent. I think they have come out and said that they need to do a better job coaching, they have said carr needs to improve. I think they also need a wide reciever that can get open not another possesion reciever, thats what the running game is for. Obviously o-line help to hold the pocket up for any quarterback to succeed. they need a safety and another d-back.

  5. We were looking at homes, too. You could find a home in Seven Meadows (about three years ago), for 140K-180K. I consider 140K low 100's. You could find some in the mid 100's easily.

155,000 was always the advertised starting point in seven meadows. and you could not get in a house for that price. you have to remember this neighborhood is just a couple of years old. You are dragging this thread off-topic a bit ,but, this is about the price point to me 150k nd above where I have decided I want to live. this is what I found personally looking just over 2 years ago the only new construction near my price point were some darlings home models that were listed as starting at 175,000 but the ones they had in inventory were going for about 184k . a little above my price point when i could get a similar house in Cinco for 165k.

  6. While I'd hate to see the golf course go, I think it will be better utilize as a stadium with additional fields. It's a massive piece of land, so I can't see why they can't just keep a 9-hole course.

While some people on here derided a 9 hole golf course as pointless, perhaps I should point out to "mulligan's" over by Jones @ 1960 that seems to do quite well up there for the past 20 years or so. It can be a great place for beginners who can't afford the green fee's of a larger course to play as regularly.

there is an article in the latest issue of golf digest about the growing popularity of nine hole golf courses and the origin of the current 18 hole standard. There are plenty of times when i'd like to get out and play golf and do it for 2 and a half hours as opposed to 5. this all being said i have never played gus wortham. I understand it is a hassle to get on at memorial(but i would like to do it) and i have played herman several times and enjoyed it.

this all being said whats wrong with the astrodome location? couldn't we demolish that relic and put in a world class soccer stadium. there is all that existing suface parking.

  7. I hate how people paint this picture of homes priced from the low 100's. Most of Cinco Ranch and Seven Meadows have homes from the low 100's. Yards look fine. How do you know if the people who buy the 200k+ homes won't take care of their own yard?

good luck finding a house in cinco or seven meadows for less than , what? 145,000 maybe even 150,000. I was not speaking of the people that buy that range of homes, i was speaking to the low 100's range

  8. I was on I-10 heading east going over mason Rd. when it happened. I had the windows up and music playing so i don't know if I heard it or felt it. But I looked to the left just to see the explosion! It was a huge mushroom cloud typical of what you see in a movie or something used to depict a huge bombing. there were several successive balls of fire shooting up creating sort of multiple fireballs. it looked huge from the freeway overpass. then the sky was lit up orange for a while with fire. I saw severall videos that catpured the fires on the news but none that saw the explosion as i saw it with the mushroom cloud. I was thinking it was so cool looking to be honest than i thought there was no way that someone was not injured or dead from that explosion. thank god it was in a field.

I am glad no one was hurt and now i can say i had a cool view of it.

  9. See this community is quite interesting. It has homes in the low 100's and the kids are zoned to the same schools that wealthy peoples children go to. This (In my opinion) would be a smart investment. I went there about 2 weeks ago but it looks like its in the middle of nowhere. However i know that this is going to change in the next couple of years. Also i read something in the chronicle that they were planning to take Spring something Rd. all the way to I-10. That road is right next to the main entrance of the subdivision. It is going to be interesting to see how this community is going to turn out.

or could be a bad investment if poor folk move in and stop taking care of their yards and houses as they sometimes do. sorry for the generalization. I'm not far from poor in some folks minds too i'm sure. people could move in at that price point and hold property values down. if it had a better location than I might tend to agree with you.

  10. Well, if you look around the NFL there not enough black coaches. Furthermore, when the last time Texas in general had almost all black coaching staff? Never. Cowboys? Never. Texans? Never, until now. Almost half of the staff now is black coaches. Could this be the works of the new GM, Rick Smith? Hell, they may decide on a black quarterback this offseason, or in the draft?

Question: When was the last time you seen a black player on the Astros roster, or staff? Never! And people complain about that. They even boycott the Astros right in front MMP.

why are you so fixated on race is the real question?

to answer your question about the astros, off the top of my head, Preston Wilson last year. But I 'm sure what you are implying is right they are passing over the best talent because they don't want any "black" players.

Are there a wealth of black athletes playing division 1 college baseball, Are they wasting away in the minor leagues. Or are they interested in other sports? or no sports at all? who cares.

Bottom line is I want the texans to put a winning team on the field. You are just looking like an ass pulling out the race card.

  11. I think unless anyone here has specific knowledge or insight to the hiring and management of such in that field. Then you would be the best judge based on your previous experiances. Do you have any friends in the industry that you do not work with that you could ask? Perhaps you will find out more in a few interviews. good luck.

  12. The Texans are getting more black coaches on their staff now. They just hired two of them already, and Kubiak still in talks with Frank Bush(black) from Cardinals to be the assistant head coach/defensive.

Kubiak and Rick Smith is really doing a good job so far in the staff.

Oh so i missed this goal for the offseason, hire more "black" coaches! Is that the measure of a good staff to you? You make yourself seem less credible everytime you post in this thread. Can you explain this to me

  13. TJones, I wholeheartedly agree with you on this. Avoid this area. I also know somwone bought in a similar neighborhood just north of I-10 on Barker Cypress and they are very sorry. You are better advised to spend the extra 10K if possible to look further west and or south.

  14. Honestly, I don't think it's an issue with anyone and I don't think it's visible from Sunrise Lakes. It's certainly not stopping any sales in that area, even for the neighborhood that's right next door to it. Also, the newest high school is going in on the same street about a block from the cemetary.

    [/quote

where is the new school being located? I havn't been able to find this information, thanks
