  1. I know most of you prefer high density and want to see everything over 7 stories go to Downtown, Midtown or Uptown, but I really love the distance between the towers sprinkled from downtown to uptown. Yes, the more they fill in the better and some day west Houston may start to look like Manhattan (not in my lifetime). But until then, I love how all these large towers between downtown and uptown have their own space and command their own presence. So what if it's a big F/U to the "How To Create A City" playbook that NYC and Chi gave us. I still like it. It's happening. And my life is great and yours sucks!

    In looks only.

    Not really in feel.

    Too much car traffic.

Maybe if they ever get the Post Oak and University line running; continuous spacious side walks on both sides and well landscape.

Otherwise it will be nice to gaze upon from a far but not so pleasant to be out on.

Clean up Main street square, throw in some stores and restaurants and it will easily feel better than Post Oak. I know we all love Architecture on here but the most beautifully frosted cake may still taste like crap.

Maybe you don't like Post Oak, but it's NOT crap. However, your over-dramatic opinion post is crap.

Free internet forums don't pay the bills. For a place with inactive site admins, it's a miracle this place hasn't cratered altogether.

I don't know who owns it and keeps the domain up, but they clearly have other priorities, and I for one can't blame them.

I do. It is cratering. I say sell it or get off the pot. I'd buy it tomorrow for the right price. I use it, care about it and enjoy the comments and photos from others who are interested in watching Houston grow and get built.

This site is like one of those empty lots in downtown or midtown that the owners have no intention of selling or developing and are completely o.k. with it looking like a dump forever because they don't give a crap about Houston or the neighborhood or the people who are interested in it.

Kudos to the owners of this site for keeping it going for the last decade, but if they can't or are no long interested in maintaining it,  they should just move on and let the people who do care be able to control it. There are several moderators that seem to do a very good job posting and moderating. Give them control of maintaining the functionality.

  4. Really, when it comes to insecurity, I find it very "Dallas". Besides why do think this thread even exist? It exist so that Sicky can brag about Dallas. It's not like he rushes to Haif to notify anyone of any of Dallas' many MANY short comings. When oil fully recovers and Houston tops Dallas on this list (AGAIN), just wait and see how long it gets posted on this thread.

  5. Right. Why would anyone want to build a hotel within walking distance of a convention center, a baseball stadium, a basketball arena, a soccer stadium, a big park that sometimes has national sports related events, a theatre district, a light rail station and millions and millions of square feet of offices in the center of the 4th largest city and 5th largest metro in America? Greenspoint I can see. But overlooking Discovery Green? WTF?

I don't have the specifics for the height, floors, architect, etc. but here's what she's going to look like... I believe this is the view of the north side of the building that will face Market Square.  This is based on the other renderings of the Chronicle site building.

What happened to the B/W rendering? Did somebody pull a Cayden?

    Like. :)

I could watch the Houston skyline taken from a moving car all day. I wish there was a moving car webcam for people like me who don't live in Houston anymore so that we could watch the city grow in real time. I even wouldn't mind being in a 'virtual' Houston traffic jam as long as I can see the towers from all those angles at once.

  8. And long as your at it, bring back the old 'thumbs down' option because I want to be able to piss people off with greater ease too! And don't forget about running a diagnostic on the entire emoji system! What is this...the stone age or something!!!

The following profanity and emoji inventory is just a test to see if anyone is monitoring this website. It is not in anyway directed at anyone in particular:

    Thank you.
