That address brings up the Harris County Public Health office. I have voted there.

I count 30 floors. Great design like Kirby Collection. I hope this one comes together.

Every time there is a post in this thread I hope it is an update on the other two towers. I love how quickly this project got moving and is being built. I have full faith in this developer.

My guess something got held up at permitting and considering how massive this development is...I assume that it took longer than expected. I thought that at the pace some of these developments were flying out of the permitting office that it would have started this summer, but that was probably a bit too optimistic considering projects that there are much smaller projects at my firm that are taking enormous amounts of time to get out. I wouldn't even be surprised if they had to do some slight alterations given the current climate regarding flooding and with this being such close proximity to the bayou I'm sure that took some time to get over.
And Harris County permitting floodplain requirements changed at the start of 2018 following Harvey. You are probably right that adjustments had to be made.

I always wonder what the inside of RDs house looks like

They really are trying to call it River Oaks. To me Uptown is only on the other side of 610.

What’s up with the brown/gray paint on the side? Must be temporary
They do multiple layers of this stucco whatever finish. There are different colors until they hit the final coat. The same thing happened on their other projects.

I agree this is great for that area or really any area. A couple of the building designs look like cooling towers.

For how popular Midtown has been for those graduating college and being part of Greek life, the whole area hasn't grown much. But with all the new projects, Midtown is finally starting to look like what I would have expected years ago.

It looks like they fenced off a small portion of the surface lot of the construction trailer, parking, and lay down.

A geotech drill rig is taking samples in the surface lot next to the tower and behind Willie G's.

Did anybody else notice the top floor is a different shade of glass? Could have been the weather?
It has been like that since it was installed. Haven't been able able to figure out why. It annoys me to look at so I was hoping there was a logical explanation.

So has any work begun on any of the land?
No

I live by here so I am hoping this will work out. It fixes major street issues and would have expanded food and drink options. I sure would have liked getting a brick and mortar Waffle Bus.

This will feel pretty tall in that area.

Could this mean a potential start to the project? Or could this thing just be delayed or dead?
I feel like dead or something. The fence came down a couple weeks ago but I forgot to post until I went by again. Nothing looking like anything is happening.

The construction fencing and signage that was around the plot where the parking garage was planned has been taken down.

This project, even though the better design was changed, is turning out great. Nice lighting, unique style, and the back side of the ugly podium will be blocked from view. Easily my favorite RD project.

1916 W Gray recently opened a few months ago, took over five and a half years to be completed.
Dolce Midtown started construction Jan 2014 and work is still ongoing.
I drove by 1916 West Gray this morning and it does not look open. Construction fence still up and no activity.

UGLY and dated looking. Looks like an office for a failed dot com company.
