  1. I agree. My own experience so far sampling Victory retail is that it's WAY UPSCALE in price. Which puts me solidly in the "gawker" category. I'll stroll by on my way to and from Mavs and Stars games and wonder aloud what people do for a living to afford those places.
  2. I'm also starting to think you've got some real issues to deal with , 2112.
  3. Actually, it looks like you are correct. It doesn't appear that work on the tower proper has not begun yet.
  4. I don't know, but it sure looks like they've started construction on the Mandarin. If not, they sure know how to fake it.
  5. As Rantanamo noted above "...Victory Park is not even close to finishing its first phase and its already looking like something great. Just give it time. Barely anything is open there. It will be an interesting couple of years as opening after opening happens over that time." Perhaps you should reserve judgment until the project comes closer to completion.
  6. I'm going to the Dallas Stars - Pittsburgh Penguins game tonight at the AAC! Fingers crossed this someday becomes a cross-state rivalry!!!!
  7. Perhaps, if you're talking about the municipality called "Dallas". But, that narrow viewpoint is fairly meaningless. The Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington has everything to do with GREATER DALLAS. Also known as the Metroplex or the Dallas-Ft.Worth-Arlington Metropolitan Area. Nice try, though.
  8. When is Houston Pavilions scheduled to break ground? And is there a final configuration for the project?

  11. Gary, you're are a stinking hypocrite. I couldn't begin to list the obvious jabs at Dallas that have been taken on this board. And no, I'm not going anywhere. As long as you slimy jerk offs think it's OK to trash Dallas, be prepared to get a little of the same right back at you. I know I'm right. And you can call me whatever blows up your skirt.
  12. Some of you Houstonians crack me up. You can post any derogatory thing you'd like about Dallas and that's OK. But if you see ONE little innocent jibe at the Big H and you bust a gasket. You're always telling us to lighten up. Well, try to take some of your own medicine for a change. Houston1stword, we all know Charlotte is the headquarters city for BankofAmerica and Wachovia. But, a list showing where the deposits are actually located doesn't care where the banks are headquartered.
  13. Because it's not. That's how the statistics are reported. If you have an issue with it, you should take it up with the FDIC.

  15. From today's Dallas Morning News... Preliminary statistics show that Dallas logged 187 murders last year, down about 5.6 percent from the 198 reported in 2005. In that year, murders were down 19 percent from 2004. According to Police Chief Kunkle, "We're very pleased," he said. "The growing trend nationally is an increase in homicides. Most of the cities you see with reductions this year didn't have reductions last year. We're unique." Chief Kunkle said the crime rate continues to improve because the department has made efforts to more accurately target hot spots of drug, gun and gang crimes. He also credited a good local economy and an improving working relationship between police and the community. According to the department's crime analysis team:
  16. Yikes! Better off investing in that High Def Flat screen with 1080i resolution. Don't know what it means, but I want it.
  17. Thanks, Troy. I appreciate it, and I have posted these on the Dallas Metropolis and Ft. Worth Forums.
  18. I was perusing old Dallas Morning News articles and found this one dated Sept 11, 1960. It appears Dallas has always been prone to overbuilding. It's just a city trait, and one unlikely to ever change.
  19. Troy was defending Dallas when "what is presented" is clearly wrong. Why would this be amazing?
  20. ^ Don't get bent out of shape because of obviously provocative comments. I wouldn't be surprised if this same nut job signed in as Houston79 to amen his own post. Just ignore him, Gary.
