Does anyone have any insight on when the Farb complex is supposed to break ground on the corner of Montrose and Fairview?

Variance signs are up now.

What is up with all of these new stupid themed bars? Boots and shoots in downtown and now irish cowboy... This is houston, there are no cowboys here.

Just what the area needs, another high end asian restaurant...
-
This location must be cursed!

Too bad its right next to that sketchy gas station. This should have been built in downtown. I don't think this part of midtown can support this business.
-
It would make a pretty awesome cafe or lounge. Or a mattress store =)

I considered the area, but chose something closer to 4th ward. I like being able to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, etc and there were not many close by to baldwin park area. There's tons of housing, just not much retail.
-
yes, nothing like more drug addicts and bums to add charm to the area.
-
This is ridiculous, I wish this would be built somewhere else. Why would you build this on main st next to all these new apartments, new theater, etc.
-
Wow, $2500/month to sleep on a pullout bed in a closet.
I have no idea why this isnt for downtown. For all the space you have in east downtown, midrise condos and townhomes just work better.
Wired did a piece on an example of micro apartments in New York
http://www.wired.com/2015/12/nys-first-micro-apartments-actually-look-kinda-comfortable/
It does look like it should be a good amount of room for one person, but I just have to wonder - why isn't this in downtown?

I hope this park just doesnt turn into a homeless refuge. Look at Herman park around Fannin and Cambridge, its very uninviting.

Who cares about those damn bricks? Tear up the streets and all those crappy houses around them. There's nothing but drugs and crime in there. Cant wait to see that last bit of 4th ward squeezed out.

This is lame. Gratifi sucks, Cuchara sucks, Max's wine dive sucks, that juice bar sucks. All this is over priced garbage. I was excited for this development, but I think this guy will find a way to screw it up.

...cool
We know. DrLan34 posted a picture a week or so before your post here with a picture: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/22649-more-coming-to-midtown/page-20#entry517093

Signage is up for Barbell Grill on Gray, replacing Majorca.

I 100% agree!
Many of you loathe the Pierce Elevated. Personally I have no hatred or love toward it. The area I find awful is the freeways and jails at the confluence of White Oak and Buffalo Bayou. This area could have been a beautiful park area. What a lost oppurtunity. Thank God for the fixing up of Buffalo Bayou. They have done a beautiful job.

Butt hurt much? People don't go down telephone and lawndale bc they don't want to get robbed. Maybe in 20 yrs...
-
Hsr? That shit won't happen.

It would only make sense to consolidate all of these services into one easily accessible location. Make a grand central station for Metro, Amtrak, GreyHound, etc. All with direct shuttles to each airport.
-
There's houses, but nothing else. Its not an urban neighborhood. If you have to drive to get everywhere, you may as well live in the suburbs. Also, keep in mind, I am not referring to Navigation/ Harrisburg, I am speaking of the area south of the railroad.

Thats because its a dead area...

Spindletap seems very douchey. Go to the website and read the descriptions of their beers. Its embarrassing.

I never in a million years would have thought to go to sears for a tie though. Thought it was just tools and appliances.
