They will probably end up covering up the whole thing and having it say nothing if people keep F***ing it up. I love when something good is ruined because a few people are idiots.

I counted 26 so we got three more floors, plus the roof to the top floor and any facade that goes above that.

You can see this on 45 when you are in downtown.

Maybe for the concrete pump?

Very nice building, I like the whole not taking the whole block with this project.

500 looks like it is done to look just like Union Station.

I have never noticed that building until now.

...astrodome?
It's too short, too far from the city center, and most importantly too abandoned. It was a big deal in the 60's but I bet it would be hard to find someone under the age of 45 outside of our region who knows what it is.

How about we just wait for 12 months, see what the health of the oil industry is and stop speculating on something we have almost no real knowledge over.

^I'm pretty sure he is over at the Marriott.

Alright, who do we bribe to: 1) Get those red smokestacks lopped off of the GRB; and 2) Get a 500-1,000 ft. monument between the GHP building and Minute Maid Park? I have $30 on me right now.
You don't like the fact that our downtown convention center looks like a carnival cruse ship? But yeah both of those would be great, Houston needs it's Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, Big Ben etc.

This would be great if this building was built.

I have long hoped that this building would get restored.

^it is but, that walk under 45 is going to stop most from walking imo.

Is the astoria crane coming down?

As a current student at UH it will be interesting to see who want to live over there, its not on campus plus all the other students on campus are on the south side of campus.

Very nice, I wish is was a bit taller though four seems pretty short.

Mixed use, residential high rise, street level amenities, midtown. These are the ingredients for a Haifer's wet dream.

Very nice and clean, seven stories is always better then 5 imo.

Its not super out there, but this is certainly upping Houston's architectural game. Many people on here have been talking about Bio-tech type stuff would be the next pillar of industry in this town, and this would definitely place us firmly in it.
I know the University of Houston is also investing heavily in this industry.

I think they ma be taking the crane down, I can see from the skyhouse cam what looks to be a massive portable crane on site.

I do like this tower but I notice from a distance the rails blend into the building and it loses its "waterfall" effect. Going up 59 north it looks pretty plain from a distance. I think it would have looked better if the rails were more contrasting like a solid white.

I sure hope the bar can be open to the public, Houston needs some rooftop bars.
