  1. OK. Uptown Park is a mess, but is Montebello and its shorter twin all that bad? What makes it so ugly is the bad design. If these were in an urban setting with a base focused on retail, it would not be as bad. The towers are not just jaw dropping but they are respectable. The design from an urbanist standpoint is horrible though.
  2. I applaud Sugar Land for what they are continuously doing. Lord knows how much land they could have wastefully used by now, but they are putting in some nice density in the sea of parking surrouding First Colony Mall. Great job. Most of Sugar Land's new development seems like it is going into Sugar Land Town Square.
  3. You guys are scaring largeTEXAS. LOL. It is obvious he or she does not want to give out too much info.
  4. From the looks of the last renderiongs posted in this thread, largeTEXAS comes through again. Great job. I like how they incorporated the rendering in the night shot with the actual buildings. i.e. Toyota Center and Hilton. Very accurate.
  5. I rather not pay close to $9 for a Turkey Burger and Onion Rings. I rather pig out @ Prince's.
  6. I knew it was just an attempt to thrown something out there. Plus Boulevard Place was not even mentioned. Come on you all. Just because a rendering is posted of something does not mean the project should be around the corner. Lets be a little more realistic please.
  7. Links? Or just to get a reaction out of everybody so we can finally see someone post some news?
  8. Yuck. Really? I hope we were looking at different renderings. The renderings I saw, there were storefronts wrapped around the development. The Main Street Entrance was more pronounced because it is the grand entry with the huge bookstore at the corner of Main and Dallas. As far as San Diego, it is possible to have smaller metros more urban than the larger ones. Unfortunately, Houston is an example. I consider Portland and Seattle better urban planned cities than LA and LA is one of the largest metros in the world. Hopefully Houston does not settle for this too much longer.
  9. I never did like that Horton Plaza. Totally kills the streetlife of a place if you ever visited. San Diego has enough retailers at street level that they can do away with that open air mall. From my understanding, yes Houston Pavilions will have some areas that are an open air mall concept, but I also think you can enter the stores from streetlevel, similar to Denver's.
  10. I agree. Thankfully the day of the mall is dead. I cannot even think about when the last mall was constructed outside of Mall at Millenia in Orlando.
  11. Yeah that is found on the link in this thread.
  12. This is sad guys. The Chronicle has AstroWorld memories on the web site with old photos. It made it look as if it use to be the happiest place on earth. Man have times changed. LOL http://www.chron.com/#
  13. What is it with Midtown building the new strip centers? I noticed the only attempt to build a pedestrian oriented center is next door to the Calais. Will this be a strip center?
  14. I read in the Ocober issue of 002 magazine that prices start at $190s. No wonder there are 800 units if they are that cheap.
