  1. I love food and some of the new restaurants are great. I dont worry about prices especially if its a healthy option, but this is a popsicle. So I have an option to pay more or less for sugar. I think Ill keep that on a lower level. My opinion of course. I could care less how much money you have or what you are worth my friend.
  2. Cool looking house. The porch looks great and its in a good location. If you can put up with the WO weekend traffic, its a wonderful spot. $$$$$
  3. Didnt say anything about white people. Send the butler to get one
  4. Yeah...this is what I said and meant. I think its crazy that there are places that charge this much for a simple popsicle. And donuts! Donuts cost $3.00 at some of the newer places. $.75 at Shipleys. Lets decorate a donut and see who is crazy enough to buy this.....
  5. So Palletas are selling for $3.50 now? I'll stick to buying from the little old man on the bike....I'm not afraid to speak with him.
  6. WTH! This post is comical ^^^^. All I see at Gelazzi are families or couples w/kids, etc. Those good folks had an X on their backs before they even opened. Sad to see how some folks can try to ruin other people’s hard work by spreading rumors and lies. White Oak isn’t my cup of tea on the weekends but during the week we like to grab a gelato. P.S. I met the owners when they opened. Very nice folks.
  7. "Donut Guru" LoL. Isn't this down the street from Shipleys?
  8. I saw this coming. I hope they really do work with the Surfhouse and not just say it for the papers. The owners are very nice folks. I really cant see that place being torn down. Oldest surf shop in Texas.
  9. I dont think its location next to those places mattered. I do think that the inconsistency of their food and drinks does. Its a nice small location.
  10. No I don't think so. We tried it twice and were unhappy with it both times. The waiter, who was new, told us that they were looking for a 'certain type' of clientel since they had a new chef. Im sure he wasnt supposed to tell us that. The food did look nice on the plate. Lol I guess we will wait for their next change.
  11. Has Witchcraft closed down? I drove by yesterday and it was closed, lights out. We stopped going when they decided to change their menu.
  12. I ate at the El. I never pay attention to others and their opinions on any businesses in the neighborhood. I thought I'd give it a try because it was new and they had a good location and I like Mexican food. There are way too many crappy folks that like to put down businesses behind their keyboards. I tried it and I knew that there were other choices close by that were cheaper and the food was better. Beer was nice and the decor was cool. Fun fact: there was a lowrider bike at the entrance to give it an authentic Latino look. In the early to mid 80's, there used to be kids that would ride these bikes from their home to Stude Park.
  13. Went to Boil House this weekend. Their CrawFish was cooked perfect. Going to go back before the season ends for sure.
  14. They are opening something at the old Blockbuster on 20th. Restaurant?
  15. SMH. You dont get it. Some people have roots here and its folks who have these types of comments, 'your 900sqft bungalow', that are ruining it. Ha. You come off so negative on this and ND site. I'm all for new developement but this us and them is ridiculous. I've lived here all of my life, so you can build whatever you want. This will never erase the memories I have of this place. Lets see these houses after our next big hurricane. I grew up in a bungalow and those houses are built to last. Be nice behind your keyboard son. P.S. I like to VISIT Katy, its changed so much over the last 30 years.
  16. I'm sure it will be. The decor and colors are beautiful. Food is OK at best and yes they are getting your money. Im just saying if you explore a little, there are many hidden gems around the area.....for so much less $$. What is real Mexican food? Depends, if your in Mexico, its there. Youre in Texas, so there goes your answer.
  17. I agree with this, but if you are going to put out a product in a city that is saturated with plenty of delicious 'authetintic' foods, it better be at least close to it. Just my opinion.
  18. These prices at these restaurants are just ridiculous. Ive lived here a long time and its comical what some folks think is good food. How are you going to open a Mexican restaurant that doesnt serve REAL Mexican food? Putting a car on a building and hanging up colorful lights doesnt do it. The food folks. Its the food.SMH. I'll just keep on making a trip to the other side of 45 or East Houston for some authentic Mexican Food.
  19. I tried them this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I had been to other Los Cucos restaurants near the outer burb areas but this one was very different. The drinks were on point too! Great little place but its kind of pricey.
  20. There is a new Chicken place off N.Main, right next to Lei Lo. I happen to pass by and grabbed a 2 piece. It was pretty good. I think it was called the Chicken Ranch? I might be wrong but the food was good and it was packed.
  21. Traffic is going to be worst going into Six Ward and First Ward.....ooops "The Arts District"
  22. I'm hoping the Birdhouse ownership reads this and gives the girl up front a raise. Im sure they are working on how to staff for what times and days. No reason to b!tch about it because they couldnt cook chicken like the fast-food chain down the street. The chicken was damn good when I went. I'll be going back for sure.
  23. I went and tried this and it was pretty damn good. I think they are a drive through but you can easily park on Oxford and walk there. Not a big place but great for a quick bite.
  24. Funniest comment in this thread. You have got to be kidding me.I remember that area well and you cant compare the Proper Heights and IH. Are you a builder?
