Also: You see a lot of people of Greek heritage any time you come to Niko Niko's but holy moly there's a lot of Greeks here tonight! One old Greek man was smoking a cigarette (indoors in the expansion room, hahaha!) and pulled on my shirt to ask me to step aside so he could see the TV even though the segment wasn't on yet. I didn't have the heart to tell him smoking is banned in Houston restaurants.
A nice lady (looks Greek but sounds kind of...British?) who sometimes takes my order at the register came around and gave me some honey balls and wowzers the honey balls are really fantastic tonight!
Might have been Dimitri's mom.

So when is Barack slated to perform an apology to Kanye West in front of the MTV audience ?
No, I actually have to say I have gained a little more respect for our Commander in Chief after his latest "truthful" response. From now on, I will be listening for THAT tone in his voice when he is giving a speech, from now on ,it will be my determining factor, for me, as to how he TRULY feels about any one particular subject. You can literally hear and feel the conviction in his voice as he doesn't hold back his real feelings in his candid statement about the miserable Mr. Kanye. Bravo Mr. President, bravo.

AAhhhhhhhhhhh, another satisfied HAIF customer. HCPA, you know I am most vocal about Demorat this or Obamaidolism that, when I see blatant Dem. wrongdoing, but you got Ed firgured ALL wrong. One would think that in the year that you have been here and put up all those posts, you little chatty cathy you, that it was painfully obvious that Ed is on the right side of things. Will wonders never cease ?

No Timmy, Bear Creek is built right up against the Addicks Reservoir. All the new construction, north and west of the area around Clay and Hwy.6 has caused a build up of the land where once were mostly rice fields and prairie. The runoff was not taken into account and the Army Corp. of Engineers made changes to the George Bush park side but totally forgot about the BC side, although I am not entirely sure that the BC side is on their watch. I do agree to some extent that the antiquated sewage and runoff system IS a contributing factor, but is more akin to mismanagement and poor city planning.

I will tell you from experience to be afraid, be VERY afraid. The house I sold a little over a year ago was a 31 year old ranch style over in Bear Creek, and had only flooded one time in those 31 years and that back in the 80's and it only got about 1 inch of water inside.
Fast forward to the new millenium and all the new subdivisions in Katy and Cypress from 2004 to 2008 and Harris County changed the flood plain in Jan. 2008, which kinda prompted the whole move. The house has flooded 3 times from Sept.2008 to Feb.2009. I totally dodged a bullet on that one.

Dude... I have a better opportunity than that... I'm looking for consultants for my new trading firm... we trade air space. Landowners own the space above their land, but obviously do nothing with it. We are in the business of Air Consignment, whereby we purchase the rights to the air space above peoples homes, then lease that out to companies that build floating apartments. These apartments are anywhere from 1/4 to 1 mile up, thus out of the view of the homeowners. We also have a sister company that provides 24-hour shuttle services, via jetpacks, from the floatable aparment dwellings to wherever they need to get to down here on planet earth.
You can check us on the BBB site if you'd like: Air Consignment Limited
Talk about your scams.....
SOMEBODY has watched Ocean's 13 one too many times.
So, how much you charging the FAA for letting all those pesky planes and helicopters flying around in your airspace ???

Clearly, you do not know Red. Hosing would only encourage him.
Unless it is a hose filled with Capt.Morgan's and Cola, then he'll calm down.

The Mosque I am thinking of is around the 11200 block of Harwin. I think Hakeem Olajuwon owns it also.
gto, I was looking at your picture again, and I think a golden orb has been removed on that right side.

Gto, that Temple has been there since about the mid 90's. I want to say there is another around the area with eclectic architecture similar to this one.

I don't know gto, I think Colin Clive looks a bit more like a moustacheless Hitler more than Shelia Lee in that movie still, but that is just me.

Ricco, point of order........I don't know that it is ever a "GOOD" week for the Taliban, or "GOOD" to ever be in an extremist organization such as ??? Was it a "BAD" week for LULAC, or a "BAD" week for the Ku Klux Klan and Black Panther Party also ? I'm just sayin' my friend, but good riddance to those Taliban jerks anyways.
BTW, Porchman, he was referring to an extremist group, not the people within the group, just as I have here. You have to remember that there have been other races associated with Taliban/Al Queda, most foreign some domestic.

Yall, this is by far the funniest thread I have ever read on HAIF. I have tears in my eyes. I also have a liter box full of cat turds that I will share.
What do you mean by "share" exactly? Is it your plan to go about The Heights, leaving random "presents" on people's lawns, or will you be sending them to lucky HAIF members disguising them as "chocolate treats" ?? The fact that you want to "share" your cat turds with others is a disturbing in the least, but shows the nice diversity we have here on HAIF, and that even the fecalphiliacs are represented on this website.

Because there were NO cellphones and everyone learned how to drive by age 13 or 14. They weren't distracted by 3000 watt stereos so they could hear what was going on around them nor were they texting their boyfriend/girlfriend either.
