  1. Do you remember what wing the Game Peddler was in? My memory isn't so good. Thinking the Wards wing but not certain.

Didn't they have D&D, other RPG stuff, and board games?

I seem to remember it over by the Wicks and Sticks going towards Monkey Ward's . Babbage's was across from Walden Books on the Foley's/Macy's side.

Do you remember the Christmas wrapping paper kiosk booth that would pop up during the holidays, over by Nine West going towards Service Merchandise?

  2. Let's see here. I got a $1.4 million car I can't pay for anymore. I need to downgrade for that Enzo I have had my eye on. Hmmmmm, look at all that ugly brown water. That would RUIN this car. Time to see just how good my GEICO insurance really is. Wait............is that the googley eyed stack of money taking video of me to my left ? *SPLASH* !!!

I feel the investigation on this one is gonna get weird. Perhaps the Bugatti is a rental. Perhaps this was an episode of Jackass ? Something just isn't adding up.

Bryan.....just saw your website link for Mr.House. He is TOAST ! Unless the Bugatti was already had a salvaged title from a previous mishap?

  3. Governor Good Hair vs. Houston's Hair Care King. You can't make this stuff up!

My wife and 7yr old daughter SWEAR by that Biosilk Silk Therapy, Farouk makes. It ain't cheap either....I should get a free invite to one of Farouk's Gubernatorial parties since I am helping pay for them.

  4. It was a madhouse up there yesterday. All schools in the area were on lockdown, all roads leading in and out of town were on lockdown as well. I was up there right before this happened. I luckily had an appointment in Lampasas that had me leaving just before this occurred. I had another appointment at 6pm in Killeen which I had to cancel because I couldn't get in. What I don't understand is that "eyewitnesses" claimed there were 3 shooters, apparently their tweets were WAAAAYYYYY off ? The reason the shooter had such opportunity is that there were graduations going on yesterday and everyone gathers in the deployment area, it is a family included area where everyone can gather. This P.O.S. Hasan must have been planning this for some time.

My heart and my prayers go out to all those families who were involved yesterday.

  5. I find it compelling that someone who abhors taxes and government so much would be ok with the government adding tax on anything, regardless of your personal opinions of the product.

    Edit: Maybe you're a closet tax-and-spend liberal?!

Most would agree that they don't mind taxing.......ONLY when it doesn't affect THEM ! Tax bread......it's bad for you.....Tax pasta.....it's bad for you.... Tax Cakes and cookies....they're bad for you.... Tax milk..... it's bad for you, but we need it for the little childrens.

Tax more on Beer, Nacho Cheese Doritos and Slim Jims and all hell will break loose. Time to introduce the FLAT TAX Bill again.

I don't like taxes, but if my taxes went strictly towards rounding up illegals and those who abuse the welfare and healthcare systems, I would gladly pay and we wouldn't need healthcare reform and new taxes to help pay for it and a broken welfare system.

  6. I don't know if it will honestly help us poor obese people as over the years we have fooled our tastebuds into thinking DIET COKE tastes just like regular, I like Coke Zero muself. I do have concern that it will mostly affect the poor Appalachian children in their quest to have "Mountain Dew Mouth". :o:(

  7. Why single out one religion?

Everyone can bash on Christianity because we are expected to turn the other cheek and forgive them and blah blah blah ! If it were titled...."Is Islam GOOD for the World ?" it would have instantly become racially and ethnically motivated and DEMANDED not to be released by the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton, and Fahrakhan minions would be rioting in the streets. This is just speculation however.

  8. "The NBER is a private group of leading economists charged with dating the start and end of economic downturns. It typically takes a long time after the start of a recession to declare its start because of the need to look at final readings of various economic measures."

Has the NBER weighed in on end of "official" recession. Seems like it would take more than one quarter for that to happen, but I might be wrong.

Not sure Ernie.....has there actually been 4 continuous months of economic and job GROWTH ? As I believe it takes 4 continuous months of economic and job decline to be considered a recession.

I found this neat little article that I think helps explain it. http://www.westga.edu/~bquest/2000/dec21.html

Also, as far as the C4Cs is concerned.......look at the new declining car sales numbers and you will see that without a $4k incentive, people are staying away from the dealerships again. October is traditionally not a good month in the business, even in a GOOD economy though. November and December will be able to cast more light on the subject. With the C4C program......those extra 125,000 cars would have been a negative 125,000 units, making a 250,000 unit market swing from the previous year.

  9. The stupid arses at SA wouldn't be crying about a bailout if they would just go ahead and level that eyesore they call The Astrodome and make it a friggin' parking lot already and charge $10 to park !!! Geez.......the answer is staring at them daily as they gaze out their highrise offices on Fannin. WAKE UP SA !!!!!!

  10. Eh......I have a 1940's pillbox here in the Crestview area of Austin. Still have the asbestos ceiling squares and asbestos siding. Doesn't seem to be a problem, no particles flying around to breathe in or anything. You should be fine.
