Dunkin Donuts is like frozen yogurt to other donut joints ice cream.
I'm sorry I had to say that.- 1

I really wonder how accurate that Houston Chron article is. They seem to be working all across the property.
They're moving dirt all over the place. Dirt-moving is ubiquitous.

Frank Lloyd Wright would agree with TBooze on the Williams Tower. The Gulf Building is awesome. The Esperson complex is my personal favorite. But if I were going to vote for a "masterpiece" ("masterpiece" being one of those words that invites skepticism) I'd say the Penzoil Place.

If this is in "going up" then the eight-story hotel on Oxford and the Katy Freeway has gotten gypped.

I know next to nothing about this project except that it should be reshaped and put in midtown.

What does the 2nd phase look like?
I'm pretty sure phase 2 is just phase 1 in a mirror with a goatee

I could walk there but with such a robust parking lot I might just have to drive my F-150.

I know a lot of people like the new design but for me this is the ultimate Hotel Alessandra.
In fact, it's more Alessandra than Alessandra.- 1

Two parking lots. http://swamplot.com/heights-hoteliers-next-teardown-target-the-florist-on-the-other-side-of-ashland-st/2018-12-18/
The floral shop across Ashland will be torn down to make way for (more) parking. That means the entire blockface of Ashland between 20th and 21st will be surface parking.
This is so ridiculous- 1

I'm sure you've seen it and it doesn't come through in the pictures but it's impressively vast and empty.

I'm wondering, all engineers, architects, industry, and engineer-adjacent people.
How the hell do you "value" engineer something that's 800 feet tall? It seems like whatever materials you chose you're going to have to engineer the hell out of them.
(Unpopular opinion: I wasn't all that crazy about the offset sections.)- 1

This is really one of the more interesting towers in all of the Houston metro. The architect was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright.
This is really terrible.- 3

Nothing like knocking down a mansion to build something across from an empty parking lot.
