They are planning on adding slides and tree house, interesting to say the least in my opinion good to see different things coming along.

There are plans for the east end i saw a while back where they intend to do more to the east end up to the ship channel this includes a symphony island I will try to dig in my files see if i can locate it. 

Per swamplot and the houston chronicle the dog park is half way done and the link includes additional updated construction pics.
