Are you talking about the one called WestMont?
If so, the picture in this Swamplot article looks like the one in the slide show.

Does it portend... what?
Portend: to indicate by signs; to foreshadow

What's that building towards the left that's about 70% vacant?

I think this was included in the BLVD Place thread, but I could be wrong.

I can't wait to see all these cranes rising in downtown!

When is construction starting on this?
As far as I know, no precise date has been set, but groundbreaking should be sometime this spring with a completion date of mid-late 2015.

Hi guys, my 13 year old nephew recently became interested in modern architecture. He asked me if I could help him try to find completions for his age group in the Houston area. Anything you guys know about?

WOW! That's amazing. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen, I'm still excited for this.

Texas/Avenieda De Las Americas/Capitol/Milo Hamilton Way: a block away from minute maid, 4 from BBVA, and along the future green (or purple, not so sure) rail line.

HAIF is not a place to only view what one person believes is "quality architecture". Though many will agree with you (including myself) that this building is rather bland, HAIF is also a place to criticize and give our thoughts on the structure, what ever it may be, not ask why we even mentioned it in the first place. If you feel like there is nothing spectacular about the building, that's fine, but if you feel that it shouldn't even be mentioned, than just don't post.

Westcreek at River Oaks is now closed. The show is over, the monkey is dead, and they've chained up the gates.
What happened?

How many floors is that? It looks to me about 20-25.

Houston will never have a "true urban experience". We are different. We developed differently, we are laid out differently, we are our
own place. Accept it, and be happy with it.
If someone wants a "true urban experience" in houston, they should move downtown.

I think it'll be fine as long as they don't touch the other side of the building facing 59.

I feel like the GRB makeover could be have an amazing "town (city) square" feel to it when (if) it happens.

Yay. More blue boxes.

Can someone change the name of the thread? Urbannizer's post from January 24th (post #45) says 29 floors, not 28.
