I'm happy it's planned to be downtown and not out in Katy somewhere.

I like it!There's still a few minor details missing. This project will be more upscale than StreetLights at Midlane. Some units on the 20th floor will have 2 levels, giving them a 'townhouse' feel.

Is there retail at the bottom?

Where is the Houston station supposed to be anyway? I feel like the old astroworld site would be great for something like this.

Very nice!

Never mind. I misread Urbannizer's post in the thread about the Chelsea Montrose. Sorry.Negative, skyguy. Elaborate.

NOOOOOooooo!!!!! Lol, for real though, this sucks.. I was really looking forward to having only the third twisting tower in the US.. And possibly a new tallest residential. Ugh, I hope they end up building it. I wonder why they aren't perusing it when the residential market is so hot?
Didn't Urbanizer say that the 20 storey tower in, I think montrose, would look like this one?

I don't want to go to Stupid Dallas. I want high speed rail connecting Houston to Galveston, New Orleans, san Antonio and from there north to Austin and South to Corpus and South Padre. Screw Dallas
Its so the People from Dallas have a faster way to leave and come here

I think it's decent. Mabey it's just the fact that it's cloudy and depressing in the background or that it's completely empty. (I'm talking about the pedestrians)seriously??? i think that looks terrific, particualrly for the area. love the way they are coming right up to midlane with curbside parking.
just goes to show you can't please everyone.

Well, both Battery City and the World Financial Center, and now with GS in place, I think the new world trade complex albeit big offers towering structures while integrating with the surrounding skyline. In other words. Although a 102 storey tower would indeed stick out at first, I would think it would spur other future developers to exceed that never ending 40 something storey limitation that seems to hover over DT for the past couple of decades. Bring it on!
609 Main=47 floors (or is it 49?)

Earlier today I was driving down Westheimer and I saw something under construction. I know that that the plot of land used to be surface parking. Anyone know what it could be?

In the bottom of the tower..?
From the renderings it almost looked like the entire tower was condos. Esoecially the night-time renderings where it looked as if lights from inside were lit throughout the entire tower, not just the top.

It actually is surprising they're taking up the whole lot because in Houston there's this trend to add an obnoxious garage and acres (exaggerated) of grass and landscaping.
Where is the garage anyways?

Link?Projected to break ground this spring from HBJ.

2? What do you mean. The only other crane will be for the BHP tower. (Unless you count whatever else is going on at BLVD Place-which probably won't have a crane for at least the next half year or so. Probably longer than that.)so soon there will be 2 more cranes in this pic?

The LTAWACS Amenities levelThose effin residents ... we should start a fund to assist with the developer's legal fees. In return the developer can name a floor or a park bench in honor of the largest donors.

That's adding an average 130,000 per year/1.3 million per decade (Adding 4 mil. in 31 years). I would consider that "boom", not "bust". That's just about the amount we've been adding in the past 13/14 years.
Just something I forgot to add (I can't edit my post since the "EDIT" button has disappeared.)
This means we will be adding 1 million people every 7 1/2 - 8 years.

Hopefully so. Personally there is very little interest in whatever happens in The Woodlands from me. While I want nice suburbs and working towns/cities surrounding the core of Houston, I don't really want those suburban areas to pull major corporations FROM downtown.
I'm sure Chevron is large enough to build both a tower and suburban campus.
Now, back to the so far unsubstantiated (from what I can tell) rumors of this being a 60-65 floor building? What news of that?
Instead if Chevron building both a tower and a suburban campus, why not build a 102 floor supertall? (:

Sheesh!! It's not like I was comiting a crime. Just curious.people should be temporarily banned for asking this inane question.
last post in this thread was 11 months ago... don't you think someone would have posted an update if there was "anything new" worth reporting? either it's been covered in another thread or no, there isn't "anything new".

Would that make it taller than Williams (Transco) Tower?

435437. Is that possible? That seems like a lot of posts.

Check the date on that article.
If you look back a couple if pages, you'll see that the most recent plan for BLVD Place has a grey square on the left that fits the shape of this tower perfectly. I think originally, this tower (Landmark Tower) was supposed to be there, than got scraped, than apache decided to build their tower there, and now were pretty sure that it's not going to happen and so the most recent plan shows the area with a tower looking like the one in the article above.
