  1. I should've explained better. Not Marky Mark, I'm talking about the guy who hosted "Temptation Island" and the Houston show "House Rules." He's a lot like Jeff Probst from Survivor but a little more cool, in my opinion. I think he's currently hosting "The Mansion" on TBS.
  2. Yes, I agree this season is much worse than any other. I think the biggest problem though is that they aren't leaving the continent. One of the best things about that show is seeing the world and how the teams react when navigating it. I think the family move was also a bad idea but I think it would still be better if they actually crossed a border. What about Phil too? Can't we get a good host already? What about Mark Walberg (not the New Kid, the other one).
  3. I think a team can definitely make it in SA. SA is big enough already but if you include the Austin corridor, there is pleanty of money and corporate prescence to go around. I mean look at cities like Jacksonville, San Antonio is much more ripe than that city. Plus San Antonians have proven to be loyal fans. With that said, I think Jerry Jones would birth a cow before willingly let a team into South Texas and interfere with his precious cowboy following.
  4. An article in the Chronicle This Week section said that the garage will be finished before Christmas and will attach to Dillards on both the first and second floors. Also, the second two restaurants and a big open air upscale retail section of the mall will begin construction in January. This will connect the mall and the new restaurants and then is supposed to connect to Sugar Land Town Square. The articel compared this development to what they built at the Woodlands Mall. It all sounds pretty cool!
  5. Are you kidding? That's awesome. My wife and I have been hoping for a Chipotle at Town Center. Freebirds would be better but they're not the suburban type.
  6. I would refer to this area as "Tanglewood," the Uptown (or Galleria area) really has an assumed west limit of Chimney Rock. This really is a very nice area. Other nice areas are Highland Village and Uptown Park.
  7. I think it's a good tradition but a better one for Texas than Oklahoma. I doubt I'd want to travel to someone else's state every year for my rivalry game. Add on: I think Reliant Stadium should work with the Aggies and LSU to start a rivalry game in Houston every year. It's about time we got the Aggies back in Houston on a yearly basis.
  8. Here's a point nobody has mentioned yet. Traffic. I think Katy has some of the worst traffic in the city, and I don't mean just driving in to town. I mean just getting around. If you were looking at Katy, I'd stick to Cinco Ranch and south so you could avoid the Katy mess. I also like the areas between 290 and 249, they're very green and have everything that Katy has, maybe more. Also, Cy-Fair and Klein schools are always ranked near the top academically with Katy, I'd call that a wash.
  9. Not Sugar Land, the Fort Bend County cities (Missouri City, Sugar Land, Richmond) are planning to implement Commuter rail along Hwy 90 from Richmond all the way to the south end point of the Main Street rail line.
  10. Has anyone seen the other development going on outside of Dillards? I can't figure out what that is either. I wish they weren't so secretive. Does anyone know anything more about the mall's expansion?
  11. One other benefit you'll find in Houston, as Jeebus mentioned, is a very diverse city. Houston is reflective of America as a whole with large concentrations of white, black, hispanic, and even asian citizens. I was born, an grew up in, DFW but much prefer Houston for its genuineness. Also, I have to disagree with H-Town man on a few points: -Houston isn't a blue collar town. Houston is known nationwide as an international center of commerce with the second most Fortune 500 headquarters of any city in the nation (behind only NYC). -Houston by no means has less money than Dallas, there are more millionaires in Houston than in any other city in Texas.
  12. Because Baton Rouge is only 2 hours from N.O., not only would it be cheaper but their fan base would be that much closer. Not to mention 90,000 seats vs. 65,000. With that said, I'd love to see the Saints move to S.A. for good and this would be a great opportunity for S.A. to show the NFL that it can turn out a crowd for professional football.
  13. That's not the area I'm describing, I am familiar with the offices that you mentioned. The area I noticed fronts Hwy 6 and is adjacent to Johnny Carino's (in front of Bed, Bath, & Beyond). Thx.
  14. Does anyone know what stores are going into the newest section of Town Square? The only one I've heard of is Z Gallerie.
  15. It looks like Kona Grill is open or about to open. And they appear to be preparing to build out the other two restaurants, but for the life of me I can't find out what they will be. Has anyone heard anything about these other two sites?
  16. I recently heard that Lupe Tortilla is going in at this site. Can anyone confirm that this is the site of BJs or Lupe? Maybe Lupe is on one of the opposite corners.
  17. What are they clearing the pad site for in front of Riverstone? It's between the new Johnny Carino's and the new light in front of Wal-Mart. I hope it's a restaurant, they already have enough retail sites there.
