It's just like the other 65-story 800 footer - office on the bottom and apartments on top. 2 hours ago, H-Town Man said: Dang. All these 800+ foot buildings and that place is going to start getting a little uppity. We're only going after Dallas right now. Houston is safe. The Hills
One more off topic tower... The same developer/GC (Ryan Cos.) that said they are starting the 774' BBVA bank tower in January also said they are still planning on starting their Tower 5C project in January. Montrose1100
@Urbannizer Is this building really that large or does it just seem so relative to the slimmer towers Austin has?
strickn
You're right that the majority of Austin's highrises are condo, apartment, dormitory or hotel, with negligible floor depths. The skyline appears wider and busier with these slender facades. There's also a secondary visual illusion resulting from the fact that AFAIK 20 years ago they had only two buildings with roofs that reached the 350' mark (plus only ten, including UT and the State Capitol, between 250' and 350' -- not far ahead of Corpus Christi's skyline at the time). Placed alongside such short buildings, the slender ones have gotten even more sense of height since there's nothing chunky for comparison. 600 Guadalupe has a pretty chunky massing, but for office the floorplates are not exceptionally deep. https://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=96230337 https://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=96230381 Edited February 11, 2022 by strickn

It it’s pretty large in person. The site sits higher than buildings that are closer to the river-can see it out from multiple areas of town yet it only just made it to the halfway mark.

Downtown, Texas Medical Center, West loop/Galleria area, Greenway/Upper Kirby, Energy Corridor and Allen Pkwy/Memorial Drive. They do have some cool looking buildings I wish we could have but we clearly have way more high rises than Austin's Skyline.

Should say “tallest residential and hotel tower”, as it’s a different project for Downtown.

The Hills
We never saw the final elevations for this project, and the final height varied between 848' and 883' depending on the source. But a contractor working on this project sent me the final elevations today, and the official height will be 874'. (I tweeted the drawings and posted them on SSP.) Mopacs at SSP took some photos yesterday showing that this is indeed Austin's new tallest. It will hold that title for about three years when the 98 Red River supertall passes it. That's about how long the Independent held the tallest title until this project passed it. A project known as 3rd & Congress is proposed for as many as 90-stories and likely 1,200'+ in height and would surpass 98 Red River as a future new tallest https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showpost.php?p=9666243&postcount=2771

Urbannizer
It is said the building will have the highest pool not only in Texas, but the entire Western Hemisphere. https://atxtoday.6amcity.com/behind-design-sixth-guadalupe-austin-tallest-tower/ The penthouse pool will be the tallest pool deck in the entire city, at 830 ft. Currently Market Square Tower has the highest pool in the state at 500 feet. I live two blocks away from this beast, I can see it from our back driveway and kitchen windows.
