jfre81
Welcome ladies and gentlemen. It's been awhile. Let's go on a little journey. As always, we're getting around... ...on the bus... ...on light rail... ...or on foot. So sit back and watch. Anyway, we'll start this off in Hermann Park. There's not much to say besides it was a nice day to be out. While the Northeast is freezing, well, we're... Somebody else thought of the idea of coming out here to take pictures before I did. Anyway, we'll actually go somewhere now... This is the Museum of Fine Arts sculpture park across Bissonnet from the museum. I didn't feel like my trip into CVS was worth chronicling, but I did get some more batteries. Because this is going to be a long night... Let's go down Richmond. Warning: Do not actually get on a highway and drive while stoned. It's dangerous to drive 15 mph on a highway. Ike casualty? I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a Lucky Burger tod...well, hell. They're closed on Sunday. Never mind. By the way, I just took a left on Dunlavy... Now we're back across 59 again. As we can see here, not everyone is thrilled with the idea of light rail on Richmond. We're back on Richmond, by the way. Can I have the soap box please? kthx. OK, these people have no clue. These business owners have a lot of parking back behind Richmond, and I know I'd rather take a train to and from a bar than driving if I had my way about it. It's the kick in the ass the Richmond Strip needs badly. I'm told there's one guy who owns a lot of this property who accounts, directly or indirectly for most of the opposition here. Democracy in action. Anyway...</soapbox> It's getting dark. Richmond near Eastside. I think I could use a little break here. Good thing there happens to be a bus heading to where I'm going. I like that. I want the T-shirt. (fast forward to end of bus ride) Here we are. Hey, it's Christmas. Why not go into the Galleria? So let's move on... It's gonna be awhile. Traffic is...well, the way it always is around here. Back on the bus. Anyway, I'm glad everyone made it to the end here, if anyone's still viewing/reading. Merry Politically Correct Christmahannukwanzikahstice everyone.
AtticaFlinch
Was this yesterday? While at Hermann Park, did you happen to snap any photos of a tall gent wearing a camel hair jacket and a Memphis Tigers t-shirt while pushing a baby carriage? If so, we may have crossed paths inadvertantly yet again.
Subdude
Great shots. I liked the one looking up Kirby. Is that Cactus Records on Sandman descended from/related to the old Cactus that used to be in the Alabama Center?
jfre81
Thanks. Was this yesterday? If so, we may have crossed paths inadvertantly yet again. It was....I was out there around 3pm and didn't really wander much into the park past the reflecting pool. Was a great day to be out there, wasn't it?Subdude, seems I can't edit posts after a certain time. The last image URL made it in somehow without getting an IMG tag, would it be possible to add it?AFAIK Cactus Music only relocated and is the same store in a different spot. jfre81
Thanks for posting! Enjoyed the ones near Richmond/Dunlavy. (I live near there.)The lighting, such as it was, was giving my little Coolpix fits over there. Nothing I shot in Dunlavy/Ervan Chew Park came out. Dusk is probably the most difficult time for getting anything good. Once it goes completely dark I can at least quit having to adjust settings every time I turned around or walked a few steps to take another shot.
