editor Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 This afternoon Council Member Anne Clutterbuck and Parks and Recreation Director, Joe Turner, Upper Kirby TIRZ and Management District Board Chairmen and others will dedicate the first set of new trees to be planted on Kirby Drive between Richmond and Westheimer. From the press release: Quote The installation of some 145 new, 200 gallon trees will begin with a section of High Rise Live Oak trees at the northeast corner of Kirby Drive and West Alabama. The finished landscape will include both High Rise Live Oak and Bald Cypress trees spaced approximately 25' on center from Richmond to Westheimer. The landscape will also include groundcover planting beds, street benches, trash receptacles and pedestrian lighting. All new trees and landscaping will be serviced by a new irrigation system maintained by the Upper Kirby Management District in perpetuity.
